oooppppssss!!!

At betfair I've laid Jimenez at 160.... now leading at -7 thru 14 holes.

But it's early days... isn't it? Gulp!!

Later...
What a beautiful finish!! Bogey-Bogey-Bogey... pity he couldn't play a few more while the shoulders were empty.

Final update: 2-1; +3.04 units

Triplett 3rd
Lowery 72nd
Riley 5th

Rare winning week on the PGA Tour with both Triplett and Riley finishing in the top-5. Trip finished strongly to finish 3rd, while Riley had an indifferent final round, but thankfully Mike Heinen made a mess of the final hole to let him into a tie for 5th place. Lowery struggled to make the cut and continued in the same vein over the weekend.

PGA Tour ytd

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
The week that was -

Since along about Friday morning, I expected I would be deserving of no good news come Sunday. I've been grinding hard all year, but there was a letdown off The Open from both the sporting event buildup and some moping about several weeks of opportunities that got away. This week, while nothing at all was catching my eye in the matchups, I kept circling outrights that seemed juicy with value. I'm sure I blew it when I didn't bother to follow my routine to first list my choices on one sheet, and then frequently sort, assess, research and edit the picks that I started with (much like I love to do for a week with a card of NFL games). If I had done that, I'm sure I would have figured out that extra outrights was where my money belonged for the week, and I know I would have added Robert Gamez and Notah Begay, while the remaining contenders were likely to be David Gosset, J.P. Hayes, Tim Petrovic, Pat Bates, Neal Lancaster and Peter Lonard. Instead, I made my final selections from a jumbled assortment of printouts, and even screwed up to the point of getting $2 To Win bets in on only Gamez and Begay. I should have been toast on Sunday. I'm glad I'm just an amateur at this.

Perez - 4th
Baird - T5th
Lowery - T72
Molder - MC
Bland - 10

What I did do for amusement this week was make my first "full unit" golf wager of the season that I didn't post at Madjacks, even though I had every chance to do so. Just to see what would happen. Shor 'nuff, Beth Daniel(50/1) strolled home with a 5th place finish. The most curious twist of all.
