Why is this bum not resigning from the Senate IMMEDIATELY???

Why are fellow democrats not asking for his head???

Surely, if a Republican had the nerve to insult every American in the military and those of us who have friends and family in the military WE WOULD CALL FOR HIS IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION!!!!

The Dem's had a victory written in stone one week from today and John Kerry may have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and these lefties are STILL backing him and not calling for his resignation.

IF the democrats had any nuts whatsoever, they would get rid of this bastard and in doing so, they would sweep the country with victory this year winning the house by 20 seats.

Case in point -- coworker of mine -- socially moderate-liberal, fiscally conservative.....was pretty much a lock for democrat....HOWEVER she has 2 brothers with undergraduate education as well as specialized training and are in Iraq....NOW SHE IS INCENSED AT THIS BASTARD!!!!

Where is the democrat outrage???? WHERE IS IT????

This bum has GOT to go.

First, he says what he said after Vietnam.

Then, he calls our troops terrorizing women and children in Iraq pre-2004.

Now, he is basically inferring they are lazy and stupid.

GET HIM OUT!!!!

Here are the left wing "news" outlet's amazing job at sidetracking this whole issue:

from yahoo.com: White House, Kerry exchange accusations

from cnn.com: Bush slams Kerry for Iraq remark

from USA today: Kerry's Iraq "joke" angers Bush

from CBS: Kery, Bush spar over Iraq remarks

*** WHEN ARE THESE LEFTIST NEWS OUTLETS GOING TO ACTUALLY PRINT THE NEWS?????****

If Bush said something so outrageous this would be all over the headlines

Look at Foley example -- it did not say "Democrats and Foley spar about ethics" or some other pathetic headline...

MEDIA BIAS at its best

How can anyone in these newsrooms look themselves in the mirror???

Why does the headline not say RESOUNDINGLY --

KERRY INSULTS TROOPS, INFERS THEY ARE UNEDUCATED, LAZY"

WHERE IS THE JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY??????

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE STORY HERE??? BUSH CALLING HIM OUT ON THIS OUTLANDISH BEHAVIOR OR THE BEHAVIOR ITSELF????

Will the leftist media follow this mom around like they did Cindy Sheehan????

(We all know the answer)

from a Boston news channel

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/10204420/detail.html

BOSTON -- The mother of a local Marine who was killed in Iraq spoke out Tuesday about the comments that Sen. John Kerry made about U.S. troops and education.

NewsCenter 5's Jim Boyd reported Tuesday that while talking to a group of students in California, Kerry urged them to study hard or else they can "get stuck in Iraq."

"I am very disturbed. I am very insulted and very sad that he doesn't understand how highly educated and well trained our military men and women are," said Debra Booth, whose son was killed in Iraq.

Second Lt. Joshua Booth died on Oct. 17. His mother said that what makes Kerry's words so offensive is that they come one day after Kerry called the family to offer condolences.

"We did appreciate the call. I am appreciative of anyone who reaches out to me and to then turn around and say something that is so totally incorrect," Booth said.

As to whether Kerry should apologize, Booth said that Kerry needs to do more to make amends.

"In addition to apologizing, he needs to learn a little bit about what our men and women in the military are actually made up of," Booth said. "We don't want to send that kind of signal, that you only go into the military if you are not good at anything."

Hey Dr. What did he say that was so wrong? Please tell me what offended you so much. How many college kids do you think will be going to Iraq in the next wave of 100,000 Bush is sending over. Hypocrite.
Yes, Kerry is stupid because he isn't political correct enough for you guys. You are really desperate to keep your tax break aren't you. Well, you can wave it good-bye.:sadwave:

I'm thinking that unless you have served in the military, you really can't pretend to be offended. Freeze - why don't you tell us all about your service....l

well, seeing as how every officer in the military has a college education, and these days, it is very easy to say that half of the enlisted folks have a college degree as well....

I would reasonably estimate about 40-45,000 will have a college degree of that 100,000.

Listen to yourselves, you guys are a laughingstock making up excuses defending this bum

Pure partisanship gone wrong

One wonders if there ever will be a day when you clowns can criticize someone on "your team"

This bastard offended EVERY AMERICAN who is a partriot. The men and women fighting for us are our brothers and sisters and a slam against them is a slam against us.

Defense of this guy is an outrage in itself and shows true colors just as defense of Mark Foley, Jack Abramoff, etc. etc. would have been.

Some of you just dont get it.

Marine, I am not talking reserves now, but I have a hard time believing 50% of our enlisted men come with a college education.

Steve trying to stay some what in the middle here. John should just say sorry and shut up for a week. If who ever comes up with his material can't understand from the past John trips over words dam near as much as Bush. He has no dog in this fight that he keep going back to 2004 and him and Bush. These elections are not about that.
It's amazing how many Reb's are running away from Bush. And how many Dem's from Kerry. Just think these clowns were our only chose for Pres.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I am not defending Kerry in his choice of words, or subject matter. I think that if he was trying to make a joke and belittle Bush, it was a stupid idea, and he has a right to be ripped from that standpoint. I rip him for that.

But take a step away from your bone for a second, Freeze and others. Considering that Kerry is himself a veteran, and this was a planned speech (I assume), do you really think his meaning was to portray soldiers as being stupid? What could he possibly think he would gain by that?

He stupidly botched what was a bad joke to begin with....

Kerry was supposed to say, "I can't overstress the importance of a great education. Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq."

?Of the men and women who have served and are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, 97.2 percent have held a high school diploma or more,? Hunter said. ?In fact, more than 213,000 of the 1.4 million who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan hold bachelor?s, master?s or Ph.D. degrees.?

StevieD - post high school education is being pushed down enlisted folks throats these days. It's free, the command normally gives time off to folks to help them get their education when the daily operations will support. In fact, in the Navy they are putting forth a policy very soon that in order to get promoted from E-6 to E-7 you have to have at least an Associate's but preferably a Bachelors.
In just about any given Navy command you will find about 10% of the enlisted folks holding a MASTERS

These days with education being able to be put forth thru electronic means, bringing professors on board ships during deployments, colleges having satellite campuses on large bases and night courses, tuition assistance, webcams, e-learning, and the wide assortment... most enlisted folks have at least 2 years of school under their belt by the time they hit E-4.

The four or five kids from my high school that went straight to the military were pretty much low-grade students, and all but one were frequently in trouble. From everything I've heard, every one of them came out significantly better off than they were before going in.

However, I have five different friends from college that went into the military AFTER college. Not like National Guard or Reserves to help pay for school... post-graduation enrollment. Three of them have or are serving overseas and another likely will soon. I met another guy in college that pretty much could've gone to any university in the nation, but chose to go to Annapolis and then went into SEAL training. He was a little nuts, but just brilliant. He was in the late stages of SEAL training and appeared be bound for the Middle East when he got shot in the spine during a live-ammo drill that messed him up pretty good.

I think the bottom line is that there are people of all walks of life in the military, and stereotyping them in any way is, well, stupid.

Marine, thank you for the numbers. I understand that once enlisted many people go on to higher education. In fact, for many, it is the only way they could afford college.
I guess my point was that I do not think too many people, AFTER, graduating college, are enlisting. But I could be wrong.

Most folks who are trying to get in the service already holding a B.S. are shooting for a commissioned officer position. Competition for those spots are fierce and ultra competitive. So many opt to enlist, and then apply for a commission about 2 yrs into their enlistment. But suprisingly enough, I used to get a lot of kids in that were finishing up college, and wanted in the military.. one way or another, so long as they got it.
There is a program they can enlist where they already have their degree and the military will wipe out up to $60k in school debt.
