Agrre w/ Jack that it is a tradition to here these guys! No problem w/ continuing to watch them for a bit longer!!

Also, Dierdorf is STILL "in my opinion" the best color guy! He tells you exactly how the emotions are going every down! Yah he is getting old and made references to Sharp being #84, but that is OK!

Just my opinion..................

2 all U young boyz

2 all U young boyz

Summerall and Madden show you who is doing what and who is not doing what to make the work...they break it down....get off their ass....Theismann and Mcguire do a great job but dont criticise Summerall when they R in a booth and say the ball is loose when U have the TV to look into...for all you young guys these guys break it down and if U would stop to think what they R saying instead of what U want to hear to make UR chances better to win U some $$ then U may think differently....I know many people have lost BIG cash when they put up a topic referring to the announcers....They tell it like it is, time for some of ya to listen to what they say instead of what U want to hear...and dont bash me saying UR not young UR and old guy who hates them...then I say...I guess maybe U should listen more to as what they R saying...These guys R classics and Do a tremendous job.....I can honestly say that I do trun the sound way down and maybe some of you have experienced this>>> its when I turn the sound up they repeat what I just said LMAO...maybe all of us should compete for a commentator job...Just my 2 cents but one of those pennies is a wheat penny LMAO

Yo SKEET,

I posted this thread last week (when there were no games being played) so it had nothing to do with losing money. Besides, why would I blame the commentators for losing a bet that I made?

They tell it like it is, time for some of ya to listen to what they say instead of what U want to hear...
NEWSFLASH! This entire thread is dedicated to what they are saying! I can attest that redundancy, wrong names, wrong numbers, and bad play by play is NOT what I want to hear.

Look, I'm not attacking their character...I'm sure they're great people but I posted this thread to simply indulge on their personalities and get a good laugh about some of the crazy stuff they've done over the years.

Did you lose a bet today or something? Relax! ;)

hi

hi

I just heard on the news just now that Madden and Summerall won't be doing the games next season after 21 years in commentating. I think a lot of people, not just us, complained about them, now we are getting what we want.....AREN'T YOU PEOPLE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES???? I'm not. :D

It became very ez in recent yrs to knock Summerall as a drunk and Madden as repeating his cliches too often.

But in their prime, these guys were great. ESPECIALLY Summerall. He has that voice is just perfect for the big gm. Just my 2 cents, but got a lot of enjoyment from their broadcasts over the yrs.

I agree 100% and I'll truly hate to see them part but I for one think the pairing has run its course and it was time to move to something different. I certainly didn't want to sound as if I was bashing Pat earlier in this thread but I think it goes without saying that he's "losing it".

I will say this, they are clearly the number 1 broadcast team in the NFL. Summerall has slipped in recent years, but would you rather listen to him and Madden or jerkoffs like Tim Green or Curt Menafee?

By the way, Pat said he wasn't necessarily done with FOX. He and John are just parting ways. He hinted that he was going to do something in broadcasting that had never been done before. Who knows what that is?

He also seemed intrigued by the idea of working with Troy Aikman next season if Troy stays with FOX. BTW, I think Troy and Moose are also two of the best analysts Fox has.

Madden makes bad NFL games watchable, and enjoyable. I've never tuned out a Madden game, no matter how bad, to watch a game on CBS. John Madden has a way of departing point A and arriving at point B by first going to points Z, Y, X, W ... G, F, E, D, C... but he does know football. And he's funny as hell, because he's random.
