LOL..Carol Wayne...god I was in love with her.
Slaswon cutoff ..at the "fork in the road"..god those were funny clips.
Never knew about Waynes death.

I saw his show filmed about 5 or 6 times.Back in 1972 my girlfriend from Texas came up during Christmas. My father got tickets to the Carson show. As we were leaving NBC there was a guy near the elevators giving out fliers. It was come to the Walldorph Hotel tomr at 10.00 and take a test to see if you want to be a contestant on "3 on a Match". We were going to be in the city the next day so I took the test. About 100 people were there.Only 8 passed.I was one of them.
So they filmed it and I was on national TV. 3 on a match was a game show on NBC for about 4 or 5 yrs.
It was filmed and I got to see it 3 weeks later when I was back at North Texas. The Dallas Morning News had a small blurp' North Texas St Junior on NBC's game show. Someday I tell you the story.I actually won but lost. But everyone in Denton made fun of me for the next 2 yrs.
And the girlfriend I took to the Carson show I married.

Madjack,Ed still does the Readers digest promotion.Doc lived 3 houses from my HS.Had a big horse farm that bordered on our school property.
Bahama..I'm impressed.Bill Cullen was the host. Don Pardo was the announcer.Bill was a great Steelers fan and before the show when he read our bio's he saw I went to North Texas St.He wanted to know if I knew Joe Greene from NT.I saw 10 shows taped before me that took 2 and a half days.
The day it was going to be aired was Jan 25th a Thur.It was taped Jan 2 or 3rd.Well on monday LBJ dies. All the shows before were pre-empted.We were told if something happened and your show was pre-empted just follow who the champs were.We all watched everyone being taped.
NBC cancelled all week.On Thur Am was the funeral. If I followed what NBC said my show would air next tues or wed.But I had a feeling I was going to be on.
And the show opened with me.Well Thur at noon it comes on.And the camera comes on me and Don Pardo says...Box and one.. a junior Phys Ed major from North Texas St Univ...
Four shows got wiped out never to be seen.No explanation or anything. But I was on about to make a fool of myself in front of 10 million people. And boy did blow it.
Sorry got off the topic
Madjack..your right.Leno,Letterman, aren't even close. Carson was so quick with his wit.

Larry King had a great show last night with Don Rickles, Carl Reiner, Merv Griffin, Joan Rivers and Michael Douglas. They showed some really funny clips. Rickles is STILL hilarious.

Tonight Larry King is having Ed McMahon on-should be a great show.
