Now hold on a gosh darn minute. I've been away from my Dell 450 SL for a few days now and haven't had a chance to keep up with the ramblings around here but I must throw my 2 cents in. I haven't read all of Jon's posts but in my view, this guy is great.
I want to remind you all of a true story that happened around these parts a little over 7 years ago. There was a brash young poster, who had been a lurker for some time when he finnally made his first post about the seemingly hundreds of threads calling for the immediate execution of one Susan Smith. If you will recall, this was the woman who stuck her kids in the back seat of her car then drove it into the lake so that she would be unattached going after some toothless, shoeless billy bob from North or South Carolina (makes no difference which one).
Every right wing putz at this forum wanted to fry this nut case on the spot. However, this bright, young poster came out and made his first post about maybe we should take it a little slower before we sanction government executions of the mentally ill. Well you wouldn't beleive what happened next.
Every flag waving, Jesus believin kook who frequented this forum wanted to string up this brash poster by the balls for daring to disagree with the majority. However, the courageous young man stood his ground against the relentless morlocks attacks calling him a gay, skinny, bitch, unamerican, faggot, liberal, commie, barbra steisand loving, intellectual snob, ho, animal, piece of human garbage who should be banned immediately.
Well, that skinny bitch has survived at this forum to this very day, and in the interim, run off many a psycho, neanderthal, god fearing, nut case who formerly dominated this board. Yes, that skinny bitch was me, the great dissenter, Eddie Haskell, defender of the underdog, champion of the weak, downcast, and underpriviledged.
I say, you keep on posting Jon. I see in you the son I never had. I had a son............once, but he wanted to be Mr. Amelioration, he wanted everyone to like him at the expense of his character. Be Jon, not Saul. Stay true to your course and the wind will fill your sails.
God bless and welcome,
Eddie
