Hearing rumors from a trusted source around the city that the
Red Sox have a deal for Soto. 12 year deal no deferred money.

Could be BS but I trust this source...

Yankees dodged a bullet. They should be celebrating.

I guess crime does pay. The biggest criminal on Wall Street gets the prize.

Yea. No way he is worth 750 mill. What a shame. That really is a slap in the face to every fan that attends and watches these games. No wonder their ratings suck and are now looking to add gimmicks to try and make the game more exciting.

This guy is no babe Ruth. Mick Jackie and on and on. He’s a good hitter and terrible fielder. That gangster Cohen can have him. And you’re right. They still won’t win shit.

If you're old enuf to remember, 33 years ago, Bobby Bonilla signed what would be a similar contract with the Mets, add inflation and such, and the Mets are still paying him over $1mil per year due to some monkey business involving a ponzi scheme, and the Mets didn't win squat and way back when they signed George Foster with similar hopes of winning a few WS. Foster ended up a huge bust, Bonilla was on the downswing performance wise and I'm not so sure Soto will be able to help the Mets get to the WS without any pitching and protection in front of him and behind him in their current batting order. I scouted many of the players the Mets have, Mark Vientos is one who broke out and had a decent run after June, Lindor is average but every one else is just meh, Marte, McNeil, Baty hasn't hit yet and was the talk of their draft a few years back and the Wyoming Cowboy also just meh.

Deciding factor for Soto was he wanted a change of scenery and how his family was handled by stadium security at Yankee Stadium, he gets $5mil more plus a huge signing bonus somewhwat in the area of $75Mil.

He's not a once in a lifetime talent, Ohtani was said to be that, only because Ohtani can also pitch when he's not injured, that's the key there but Ohtani can really hit, run, produce runs, throwing wise, he's well above average and showed what he can do on the bump as he did with the Angels and Japan in the WBC. He should be able to pitch by mid April but my guess is we won't know until we see him on the mend.

Great for Soto, bad for baseball as this will drive up asking prices and Boras will continue to shove it to MLB and get richer, oh by the way, agents get a minimum of 10% typically, so a cool $75MIL for Boras company?
