The timing and consistency of these failed drug tests are really freaking bizarre to me.
How guys are passing tests that are being administered just mere weeks before their failed tests doesn't add up. You can't convince me a guy is taking Roids/PEDs and passing 2-3-4 weeks prior, but failing tests just days before. The PEDs would be in their system for months as well as just days before. As well, fighters all know they're going to get tested days before the fight. Just weird and doesn't make sense.
I'm on the Chael Sonnen side. Any type of medicine you take is a PED otherwise it wouldn't pass the USDA and a doctor wouldn't be allowed to give it to you. So when you see someone get popped for a "PED" that could be as simple as cough medicine/advil to as significant as androstane. There needs to be some clarity because the court of public opinion will simply just read a headline and not look at the details of what someone actually got in trouble for.
I honestly believe the Jones, Romero, Mir, and Lesnar are getting popped for tainted supplements or shit they didn't know was in what they were taking, or wasn't on the labels of what they're taking. Maybe I'm just naive, but the common sense factor doesn't pass the sniff test for me. Like previously said, I have a friend in the fitness world and she's a college educated nutritionist. After having conversations with her and getting a better understanding of how supplement companies and sponsors work, I wouldn't be surprised if these companies are at fault.
