Mike Brown is looking great as of late.

Does anyone give Faber a shot against him in a rematch? I hope not because I'll take the odds.

Could it be that Brown is getting too much credit?

Just food for thought.

At THIS moment I think Anderson is number 1 pound for pound and the reason I say it is because I think there's a very good chance he could be the LHW champ as well. I don't think there's anyone you can say could be the champ of their division plus the one above them. Of course Fedor doesn't have anyone unless you count Lesnar as another weight class.

I think Silva should be 1 and GSP 2 with Fedor 3. Layinwood said it best about Silva and GSP has fought and beat anyone they put in front of him.
Fedor has been dominate but people want to see him fight the top notch.Arlovski is only top guy he has fought in years. Sylvia is not and was not top notch as proof by no one wanting him anymore.

After that I ranked them based on what they have done last 3 matches since it is an in the now ranking. Which probably means Brown should have been higher and Penn lower in my rankings.
Maybe I have Alves to high but he has been nasty his last 3 fights(Kos,Hughes,Karo). I have never seen a past champion(Hughes) get destroyed like he did in that one. Fitch beat Alves and is one tough SOB but he has not impressed me as much of late.
GSP better be ready because Thiago is going to bring the fight to him QUICK.

Gee what a shocker....Bucs doesn't think GSP is top 10....shocking:142smilie

The only guy on planet earth that doesn't think GSP is top 10, but I give him credit, GSP destroys Penn and yet still Bucs sticks to his hatred, bucs is consistent I'll give him that.

You do realize that you do kinda make yourself look a tad silly when you say "why is he ranked"? I mean I know you hate the guy and everything but nobody on this earth that knows anything about MMA would say GSP isn't top 10. I mean him and Anderson are so clearly the top 2 yet you don't even think he's top 10:scared

I mean I hate Aoki, Penn, Hughes, and Diego, yet I at least accept that they are good (ok well Hughes kinda stinks now).

Bucs I think your an idiot, a racist and a piece of scum. And you think I am an asshole. Yet I do know you know your MMA. But come on buddy, even you have to come around and admit that you are way way way off when it comes to GSP. I mean he and Anderson are so dominant at what they do. How in the love of fuck can you honestly ask "why is GSP ranked" and not literally have a brain shit. I mean seriously dude.

I can't stand you and you can't stand me, but even I feel a bit of pitty for you sometimes....a bit.

Signed GSP lover:SIB

I never said GSP is top 10, he's the best WW in the world hands down. I just don't see how you could rank him ahead of someone like Rampage, Marquardt, Rua, guys like that who are in weight classes bigger than him, and would beat him. This is why I don't get the legitimacy of P4P rankings....they just don't make sense.

I'm not racist, I have ALOT of friends from different cultures. You did a nice way of twisting my words, but you should probably learn to read. You call me a tad silly by saying he's top 2, I call you RETARDED if you think he should be ranked higher than Fedor or Anderson Silva...so no, GSP isn't top 2, idiot.

Please, tell me what Pound 4 Pound means to you. All around fighter? I mean, really, define what the p4p rankings really mean, and there's no end....

Also, I used GSP for the mere fact to get you all fired up, apparently it worked. I could've used Torres, or any other fighter on the list really...I hate P4P rankings because they're stupid when you have different weight classes.

Ranking the Canadian p4p is comical.
That is like ranking which LA Clipper player is best.:mj07:

Kickserv---
Where is Ryan Ford on that list? He must be #11.

Let me explain to u what p4p is.......... it is....... well....... pound 4 pound, meaning the most skills regardless of weight. Ranking fighters based on their skill set W/O defining them by weight class.

"Pound for pound means, which fighter, if proportionately equal in size and all other inelastic variables, is the best of the lot in skill and performance."

Before the GSP fight, Big John McCarthy and Rampage both considered BJ Penn to be #1 p4p... not 'cause he would beat Fedor or anything, but because they felt (at the time at least) he was, PROPORTIONATELY, the most skilled fighter.

So it's all hypothetical....ok, I get it....pointless, baseless, and meaningless.

I just don't see how you put ANY fighter ahead of someone in a "p4p" rankings when a guy listed below him would beat him.

i agree p4p rankings are pointless... especially when u start ranking anyone above #5 or so b/c everyone is going to have their own "version" of the rankings.

oh, and if u want a good laugh check out mmaweekly.com's rankings once in a while. :142smilie

Dana sparked the whole p4p debate when he said anyone who didnt think Anderson was #1 was a fool.

Bucs, there are a lot of things that are hypothetical but as sports fans we still like to argue about them. IE who is the best defense in the history of the NFL? Who's the best NBA team ever? Those are hypothetical questions because we can never know. Do you ever talk about what your team might do when it comes to a trade before the deadline? Isn't that hypothetical but yet we still do it. It's just for fun and nothing else.

I can roll with that. I just hate the whole comparisons of different weight classes. It's kind of like when people try to compare players in the NBA who play different positions.
