If Rutgers wins this game and covers, the books are going to take a beating from what I have seen around the forums.

The books dont like to take a beating. There are no free rides in sports wagering.

I like your style scott-if your system works great, I was not really putting the pick down I was just taking one bit of your post and examining it because I see alot of other cappers just talking about"why this number not that number" kind of thing . These cappers should worry about info and hard work & try and beat whatever number is there--keep it up buddy:) :D

something to think about;

75% OR BETTER
(2002, 78-64 ats)
(2003, 1-3)

Play Against - Favorites of 3.5 to 10 points (RUTGERS) - off a cover where the team lost as an underdog, in the first month of the season. (28-9 over the last 5 seasons.) (75.7%, +18.1 units. Rating = 3*)
The straight up record of the team this system pertains to is : (19-5 over the last 5 seasons.)
The average line posted in these games was: Opponent favored by 6.2
The average score in these games was: Team 24.5, Opponent 22.9 (Average point differential = +1.6)
The number of games in which this system covered the spread by 7 or more points was 18 (50% of all games.)
The situation's record this season is: (0-0).
Over the last 3 seasons the situation's record is: (6-2).
Over the last 5 seasons the situation's record is: (12-2).
Since 1992 the situation's record is: (30-14).
:look:

Army bettors, donate your money to charity instead of giving it to the "man".

Rutgers 38 Army 17

Scott, spending 3 hours "researching" doesn't hold much weight. Army players dislike this coach. They're not going to "die" for him or whatever.

Who exactly is Rutgers "looking ahead" to next week? THEY HAVE A BYE. Hello?!?

Only concern is the rain showers on Saturday, but last year's game had rain showers and was interrupted by lightening, but Rutgers won 44-0. Hmm....

Rutgers has the better talent here. Did you watch the UConn vs Army game? Army had 10 penalties! Two of them for 12 man on the field. Great coaching, blah blah blah.

LOCK CITY, Rutgers.

I prefer going against a strong consensus as well cause it always seems when everyone likes the same thing, it ends up losing ans looking like a sucker bet but I felt that way about West Virginia last week and they won and covered very easy like most people thought they would. You just never can tell. Good Luck!

nice post.

I wont even comment on what you wrote because it wasnt me that said either team was looking ahead.

Use facts or dont waste my time you dipstick rolling eyed lizard.

Here is the deal redking. When I first saw this game I was going to be all over Rutgers for many of the reasons you and alot of others are on this game. I felt like Rutgers would kill Army on their home field.

But as I stated earlier, this is not a wager on the two teams, its a wager on the books. I have seen too many times in the past where the favorite in these types of games didnt cover and I lost.

And its only week 2.

Who really knows how these two teams will play. I am wagering that the books know more than me. I am on their side in this one.
I feel good about being on the books side for once, instead of me being against them.

Good luck .

PS - You said the lock word on Rutgers. I think you are doomed.

Sorry for your lost .

Lightning.

I agree with you but that was a much higher profile game than this one. As I stated before, there is something fishy going on here and I will try to exploit it.

I am trying to get out of the never can tell mode and start nailing these mofos.

"Professor's characterization of Rutgers' athletes degrading'

Published in the Home News Tribune 9/12/03

Respectful discussions about many current and controversial issues, including the relationship between academic excellence and athletic excellence, are encouraged because they foster a mature dialogue among proponents of diverse opinions that enhance the quality and strength of our university. We value the contributions of all faculty and all students to the life of our community. They are crucial to the vitality of Rutgers.

For these reasons and more, we are horrified and embarrassed that a faculty member at Rutgers, professor William Dowling, referred to Rutgers football student athletes as morons ("which moron is hired for the football team," SI, Aug. 25, p. 56). We have found our student athletes to be seriously committed to their academic and personal development. Such personal attacks and generalizations about students are unseemly and degrading and have no place in our community.

Carl Kirschner
dean of Rutgers College, representing the members of the Academic Oversight Committee for Intercollegiate Athletics, Rutgers University, NEW BRUNSWICK
..............................................................
..............................................................

BREAKING NEWS FLASH !

In a nutshell. One of Rutgers professors called the football players morons.

This pissed off the Dean and faculty because they also probably call them morons behind closed meeting doors. I think it was reported in SI.

So maybe the Rutgers team do have a bunch of moron football players. If so that is to my advantage.

Controversy in college football affects emotions. The dumb moron Rutgers team may be angry enough to lose. Just say oh yeh you think we are stupid , OK then we will just lose and see how your asses like that !

At least I hope thats what they are thinking.

more to come

Scooter,

Just to save you time. You don't make a play and then look for reasons on why to make it. The beauty of going anti-consensus is that you see the consensus (whether on the boards or on the consensus sites) and then you go the other way. No more work is necessary.

Getting the coach's bio from Army.com and then finding a professor that called the football players "morons" is hardly handicapping. I'm sure the Army kids were called worse things during the week. You're on the books side - it's a nice place to be sometimes. Hopefully not tomorrow.

This is some of the stuff I found but didnt have time to post.

I had to make the play early for what I thought would be the best number of +7. The line is staying down below +7 so I am happy about that.

Anyway what do you care or got to say about it.

Go work on some baseball BobbyChips and let the
big dog eat............ :moon:

"Rutgers

Quarterback Ryan Hart spent time after practice yesterday working on his footwork and his drop after pinpointing both as causes for his subpar second-half against Michigan State on Saturday. But there may have been another reason the sophomore didn't have a breakout game, after playing an impressive first two quarters against the Spartans.

He's playing with a nagging turf toe injury.

"It's sore, but I'm getting treatment on it," Hart said.

Hart said the injury was something he would have to play through this year -- though severe cases of turf toe can be season-ending.

"My footwork fell apart a little bit in the second half," Hart said. "That's partly because I was sore and I was too focused and worried about the rush. I stayed after practice to work on my drop and footwork. It was fine for a half. But I have to put together four good quarters."
.....................................................

I like the part where the Rutgers QB says " I was too focused and worried about the rush."
QBs that really worry about the rush usually end up crushed.

I think they call that happy feet. Maybe a tango might be in order.
