I agree with you about UNC. I disagree with you about Illinois. Here is perfect example for you.
Don't know if you follow college football, but for 3 straight years people put down USC prior to playing their BCS bowl game. They said USC plays in Pac 10 (not strong conf.), the Pac 10 is weak and doesn't play physical football, other conf. have more talent, etc. Name it they said it against USC and the Pac 10. The result? 3 straight BCS blowouts and 2 National Championships. This same example applies to Illinois and what you are saying against them. THE SAME EXACT THINGS! I don't care if its different sports. I am not saying Illinois will win the championship.

I agree we have to see how the rest of the tourney plays out. The argument putting down Illinois because they play in Big 10 is BOGUS! Read example above. BTW, Illinois has beaten more top 35 ranked teams than any other team in the country. (sagarin rankings) BTW, ZERO losses against top 35 ranked opponents!
I don't think Big 10 is the best conference. Big 10 conf. doesn't need to be the best for Illinois to win it all. I think UNC and Illinois are on a different level than the rest of college hoops but neither are locks to win it all.
