Think most of the places you're looking for are downtown.

Brother in-law dragged me to Stratosphere. Min. was 2 or 3 bucks I think and 100 x's behind. Great odds. Not my cup of tea though as far as a casino/hotel.

Some people might just want to have the experience of playing the game without risking a lot of cash. When I go to Vegas, if a place doesn't have a $5 blackjack table, I don't play blackjack there, simple as that. I don't like playing blackjack THAT much, so why risk a lot? I'd rather save my money for the sportsbook, poker, nice resturants, etc. Doesn't mean I wouldn't love to kill an hour or two playing craps because it's fun and is something I'd like to try out, even though I don't know the game that well. But if the minimum bet at the craps table is $15... I'm not going to chance it.

Not sure if this is his situation, but I can completely understand why one would ask the question.

i am with you on this.. but you the question was LESS THAN FIVE BUCKS... you wont find that on the strip.. not even in the nicer hotels downtown.. if your new to the area and you want the tourist version of vegas for a vacation... less than five bucks per table is not feasible unless you go to some out of the way shit holes..

how fun is that?

My only real reference in my head for my post was one night playing $3 craps (maybe at O'Shay's or something?? Can't remember, I was wrecked) for about three hours back in 2001 as a poor college student. Just kept drinking and drinking and drinking while rolling the dice... I think I lost $18 total. It was fun as hell, though!

Yes! That's it. We went there after watching cbb at the Bellagio all evening. Talk about a, uh, different kinda crowd. I think it's next door to Harrah's, or right in that area, because I remember it being really close to the Bellagio. But like I said... great time hanging with the boys and throwing down drinks.

Casino Royale (I believe that is the name) next to Harrahs and across the street from the Mirage. They usually have like $3 craps and blackjack. They also have $1 margaritas and long neck beer at a bar in the middle of the casino. My buddies and I spent a couple of hours in there one day from like noon to 4 learning how to play craps. It is however pretty crowded in there.

Good Luck,

CM

Not sure if you meant $5 and under or just under $5, but you can find craps this low in a number of places right on the Strip, all weekend long for the most part. Though please keep in mind, $5 craps on a weekend means you are in the dumps of the Strip.

Casino Royale would be the place to go. They typically have 2 large tables going and 1 mini/sitdown table. Everytime I have been there, including just a few months ago, the highest it ever got on weekends was $3. Typically the tub table was $1 and the others were $2. Great place to go if you like to play odds, you can play $1 on the line and up to $100 behind. Lousy tables though, they havent been refelted in 20 years. Other places you should check out are OSheas and Barbary Coast. OSheas often has a $3 table going, though that gets "bumped" to $5 on the weekends. I have also seen a $5 game running at Barbary Coast. Last place to look would be the Boardwalk Casino, right near the Monte Carlo.

Also several places North of the main part of the Strip, like Stratosphere, Stardust etc should suit you.

On the course!
Casino Royale for sure, and I think joy is right about the Sahara. (But they may have changed it)

Thanks for all the responses

Thanks for all the responses

Some of you guys are too funny ....

All I asked was if there was a place to play with less than 5 min. in craps.

I was NOT suggesting that I was poor or could not afford it.

GEEZ.

For those people that just responded to the question thanks. For those that responded and had to imply stuff, please don't next time.
