Just because you lost a bet is no reason to butcher the English language.

The ref decided to take it upon himself to change the rules. He says he got 'buzzed' before the spike. Why didn't he immediately stop play?

If you look closely at the highlight, he looked down at his buzzer as he was calling incomplete on the spike.

Morgan dropped the ball and the refs made the wrong call on that play, but how far along can you go to correct a bad call?

Greg Aiello says that if the booth signals the ref for a 'looksie' before the next play, then it is within league rules to go back.

Well, what if it is 3 plays later, and the equipment malfunctions, but then it works? Can you go back 3 plays? Or only 1? Or NONE, like the entire free world always thought.

What if, instead of spiking the ball, the Browns threw for a touchdown on that play? Talk about a 'riot'.

BTW- all that crap about people being scared to go to Cleveland Stadium with opponents jerseys on is just that. Crap.

It is no better and no worse there than anywhere else. There will always be hometown fans that like to start trouble with opposing fans. But it's not at all pervasive there, at least in relation to anywhere else.

As far as the 'trailer trash' comments, well, what can I say? You ever seen a decked-out double-wide?

excellent perspective kosar. i really belive the whole thing could have been handled with the offical doing his job in a proper manner. i also belive that silent commissioner tagliabue needs to be taked to task for his total disregard of this situation.

The laughing stock of the League IMO is the Green bay packers. Several polls had them rated 3rd best team in the league. Favre is the most overrated player in the NFL, he gets all the attention while lesser known QB's like Kordell Stewart, and Rich Gannon are having all star seasons. Am I the only one that sees that Favre is absolutely brutal.

Doesn't matter what happened DURING the game. Bottom line is the fans NEVER have any sort of "right" to act the way they did yesterday in Cleveland. I don't care what "percentage" of fans were acting in that child-like manner, it gives the general Cleveland fan a bad name (if not the city as a whole) and it's out and out PATHETIC to react like that to a freaking football game! For God's sakes....we're talking about a PHONY ass 6-6 team (at the time) who was DREAMING about making the playoffs and not a team who just got robbed of the Super Bowl title!!! To have no perspective on where your team is really going, or NOT GOING (playoffs) in this case for the Browns is really mind-boggling and just makes that scene all the more absurd, in my opinion.

The way I look at it, the damn rules are flawed as bad as the refs! Why don't the coaches have a few more challenges and why do you have to rely on guys upstairs determining what gets reviewed and what doesn't in the last 2 min? Why couldn't one of the coaches challenge it in the final 2 min instead of the guys upstairs??? What would be the major difference??? Obviously it would be much easier to avoid a "communications glitch" as they claimed to have had yesterday.

As for laughing stock, please GET REAL Bains! A 9-4 football team -- easily heading for the playoffs -- will never qualify for a "laughing stock." Not this year. Not ANY YEAR! Overrated? Maybe so. Laughing stock? Not hardly!

Bookie nite does the obvious by blanketing many with the actions of a few. Let's analyze:

"Todays actions of the Cleveland fans further appitamizes the classless organazation that the Browns run. First, three or four drug arrests, then a thug with a gun, followed by this nonsence by the fans."

Sorry, whatever the fans did has nothing to do with any of the above.

"Too top it off Carmen Policy says he admires these fans for support? No wonder the real Browns are playing in Baltimore"

Again, nothing Carmen Policy does or say has anything to do with what happened with the previous Browns regime.

Point for azbob-
Yes, the MAJORITY elected Bill and Hillary ....there, the majority being stupid won. In Cleveland, the minority won. The a**holes who threw bottles and rioted. They were definitely in the minority, probably 500 people out of 73,000.

The Browns and Carmen Policy apologized for their statements regarding yesterdays incident.

I am amazed and dismayed by the action the fans took during the game. I hope the perps are dicovered and prosecuted.

However, Cleveland fans are good fans. To disagree with my neighbor to the north in Ann Arbor. I've been to the Big House. Your fans aren't much better than Buckeye Fans or Browns fans. It's all a case in perspective.

As a native Clevelander, I apologize for the actions of the fans here. This has given the city another black eye.
