let it rip...hand seed where necessary..I have been overseeding/handseeding the shit spots for years on end..

You have the battle Waterloo..

keep it as moist as you can for at least the next 2 weeks..

if ya get wash out from the thunderstorms just reseed..ya got enough seed and fert for at least 3 apps...fert wise probably 4 or more..

that broadcast spreader you have should work perfectly...just blow or sweep all that lands on the crete directly back onto the lawn..

stay w/it..don't get diccourage..

you may want to have TruGreen do ya one of their 4 app specials starting in late Jan. for fert/crabgrass control..again in March for crabgrass control and then their weed app in spring along w/their fert/weed control app just before it gets hotter than hell..

of course you can do all these yourself by consulting the Scotts program set up for your region..

ya got a war on your hands buddy..

ya like things nice like they should but you are in a rental w/no sprinkler system..

personally I make my wife drags hoses because we do not have a sprinkler system either..but hey...some fellas can get away w/that..some can't..

If ya hang out w/me you work..

dem da rules...

Had mine punched and seeded 2 weeks ago--they gave me identicle directions as Old School after it was done especially throwing the water to it. It hasn't rained since and neglected to water 1st few days and guy stopped by and said I wasted my money if I wasn't going to water as instructed. Been trying to do better but hate to water grass.

Have found (lazy) way I've done it in past may be best. I order seed from Chem Lawn (now tru green) and wait for prediction of snow in winter --then hand seed thin spots--wait for snow and forget about it.

forum will be fixed tomorrow. :0008

$40? How's that? I know the grass seed is the expensive part. I have 1 acre but haven't checked prices lately.

never have in my life. never had the best lawn in the neighborhood but not nearly the worst. one of the best. the guy acrossed the street did all the shit the last 2 years and he has the worst lawn in the hood. go figure

but he's the big expert :142smilie
he has all the fancy attachments for his tractor, he's always out there spraying shit around and uses the power edger, everything. has the worst lawn :0002

his looks like saint's.

i don't do shit except speed around to cut it once a week, i do water it, we have a sprinkling system, but that's it.

maybe i will do the aeration and seeding. what do i rent to aerate?

set it up. she made fresh apple pies over the weekend too. froze 3 that are ready to cook. i had to go buy 30 pounds of local apples at the fruit stand for those bad boys.

I'll have her make that chicken and dumplins you like too.

how's about saturday?

oh, bring a bushel with you ;)

Ace hardware rents it for 45$ for a 3 hour block and they will reserve the time. Home Depot makes you go and wait around to see if you can get one. It's ridiculous.

If you do it yourself, prepare to be sore the next day. Those aerators are pretty heavy. I did our 1/3 of an acre in about 45 minutes. Have some nice blisters but it's good to get roughened up every now and again.
