Reggie Bush is a true winner, Leinhart is a cry baby joke who will be exposed in the NFL like Ryan Leaf

What were some of his comments? I feel he has the right to throw his defense under the bus after their performance tonight.

he should throw HIMSELF under a freakin bus. You gotta go out and get first downs, when you have the lead. Why give a showstopper the ball and a chance to beat ya?? Keep the ball OR score again. dont give it BACK!

He said they ran and passed all over Texas, which they pretty much did...

He kept bringing it back to the missed 4th down conversion.. 1 inch, 1 foot, 1 yard, at different times...

Was a little obnoxious, but not all of what he said was untrue... Uh oh here comes Vince..

Well in all honesty he is telling the truth. They had their way for the most part with this vaunted defense. They made some costly & pretty much unforced errors that came back to bite them.

Among Libtards!!
just a classic case of a guys head getting way too big......don't worry, he'll return to earth real quick next year when he's sitting the pine somewhere and he's gone from a LA somebody to a whoknowswhere nobody. I found the guy to be pretty arrogant and classless all year.....he seems a lot like his coach in that regard.....no better way to end the college football season then to see them go down.

He just threw his defense under the bus. He said the offense did everything they needed to in order to win the game.

Must have forgotten the fourth down !!

terrible last hour for Matt I think it will cost him in the draft the potential leader of your team can't say the things he has tonight

29-40 for 300+ yards.
38 points.
28 in the 2nd half.
a great game from lendale white.
a big play at a critical time from reggie bush.
usc offense did more than enough to win.
if im leinart, do i really want to concede to texas?
of course its easy for us to say he should have class and bite his tongue. but he gave his defense a 12 point lead with 6:00 left and they couldnt hold it. i do agree he probably has to know better than to actually say it. but shit- they just had a winning streak snapped after they scored 38 points and had damn near 600 yards of O

Vince Young, ON and OFF the field really impressed me tonight. He sounds and looks like a class act, I hope all the best for him in College or the Pros next year!

Leinhart struggled first half, it didnt take much of him to give the ball to White or Bush. He played an average game.

You think if anybody with any sense of team spirit and OR class would say well i did everything i could do but the rest of my team lost it for me?

You think you see VY saying well i tried real hard but our D was just awful! NEVER.

I think the Ryan Leaf analogy will be spot on for Lienhart. He isnt used to losing and almost every top rated draft pick qb has to go through a few losing seasons.

Stats not telling the whole story...most yards were after the catch...and his last play of the game was an ultimate bonehead play...8 seconds left - a first down away from a legitimate FG attemtpt - and you run the clock out and then throw the ball out of bounds????

not only did the defense implode, but they were responsible for the idiotic timeout on the two-point conversion. that conversion meant NOTHING in terms of usc's chances of winning the game. no matter if texas gets the 2 or not, usc still needs one thing -- a field goal. if im not mistaken, it was a bonehead player that called the timeout on the field, not a coach. allow me to reiterate -- texas won the game and they deserve credit. im just saying that if im the usc offense (collectively), do i really want to concede to texas? they did more than enough to win. they even got a couple first downs on the final drive. its not like they went 3 and out.

My thoughts on the game:

Texas won fairly so I'll give them credit & congratulate them.

Leinart is getting some flack on forums & probably elsewhere soon about his comments after the game. He pretty much said he thought they were the better team even in defeat.

Some are saying he is bitching & showing no class. I however see his point. The offense especially in the 2nd H did what they had to do. They were near unstoppable in the 2nd H & quite frankly for most of the game. 2 or 3 boneheaded errors cost sure points & most likely touchdowns.

He & the offense gave them a 2 score lead with about 6 minutes in change to go. I'm sorry but if I were him I'd throw my defense under the bus too. No team should be blowing 2 score leads with 6 in change to go.

Pete also deserves some blame here for leaving Bush on the sidelines on a key point of the game. Even if you had no intention of using him in the play, your best offensive player should be out there on a game deciding type play.

Also who was the moron who burned the last timeout on the 2 pt conversion. Lets be honest here, the 2 pt conversion was meaningless. Whether he made it or not you needed a FG to at worst tie. The timeout could have helped during the last drive when they were only about one first down from atleast a FG attempt.

Texas is your champions in the end & Young had an incredible game. However with all his heroics USC still could have easily won the game but instead beat themselves.

Who was the last quality QB blame his defense after a loss? I cant think of one?
EVEN f he was incredible in the game who cares? They were beat, and he blamed somebody else, very classy.

Last time i checked the game wasnt USC vs. USC though many wanted it to be. USC didnt beat themselves, if anything Texas with their missed field goal and countless fumbles tried to beat themselves

I am sorry but he spoke the truth. I can't stand all the phony sportsmanship bs. Say what you really feel & stop worrying about being PC all the time.

VY should do the same thing as I can just tell he has alot on his chest.

leinhart wasn't his best ,but too many broken tackles killed usc. the bush throw away early was huge. 2 missed 4th and 1's by usc were very key as well. carroll f'd himself on both. usc came unglued for the first time all year. jmo

mr.hockey - youre right about the phony sportsmanship. theres a fine line obviously. you cant go overboard, but why SHOULD leinart be happy? part of what makes a blue chip athlete is competitiveness and the utter disgust for losing. thats part of why usc won 34 in a row. they could have easily lost a handful of games over the last few years.

in a utopia, maybe leinart smiles and says "texas by gosh kicked out butts"

but it was definitely a game that slipped away from usc late.

put it this way, usc probably deserved to lose the notre dame game more than they deserved to lose tonight.

texas was fantastic in the end, but if im leinart, im not sure im happy with the final result either.

very easy for guys with the #1 foam fingers to talk sportsmanship but theyre not the ones laying it out there every day

Akron, Oh
i could care less if leinart praises texas or says politically correct cliches to the press, to me he fvcked up by throwing his teamates under the bus. I guess he figures since that was his last game with them he can say "ahhh screw em, THEY blew the game not me" but to me that's classless....................... having said that, he is young and did just lose a heartbreaker in the title game; nobody's perfect
