I'll say this. VINCE YOUNG almost singlehandedly beat USC. It seemed that the Texas Longhorn team played the supporting role to the MVP of the game.

I was telling my wife late in the game (when USC had the ball and were up 5) that even if Texas was going to lose, Vince Young certainly deserved the MVP in a losing cause. He was that good tonight.

Given that, I--like Mr Hockey & gman2--do see where Leinart is coming from. He may come off as a sore loser, but given what was at stake for USC if they had won, and how USC blew a late double digit lead, he had every right to be pissed right after the game. Tonight his are reactionary responses, but give him some time and his opinions will change when he steps back and analyzes things.

Leinert was alright, but unless he played a perfect game, who is Leinert to criticize anyone.

According to Yahoo Sports, "The 2004 Heisman Trophy winner didn't seem himself during a shaky first half, perhaps feeling the rust of a month off.

"The Trojans moved inside the Texas 20-yard line four times in the first half and to the Longhorns' 25 on another occasion, but scored only 10 points."

Leinert's first half stats were 13-21, with one interception. The interception was a good play by the Longhorn DB, but Leinhert did make a careless throw into coverage. Later, Matty was sacked twice in a row in the final minute of the half, costing his team a chance for a TD.

He made amends in the second half, but in the last :08 he wasted all the time off the clock, and then tossed it out of bounds, overthrowing Dwayne Jarrett as time ran out.

For the game, Leinert was 29-of-40 for 365 yards with one interception. The vast majority of the throws were of the five to ten yard variety, with some run after catch yards. But it has been so long since Matt lost a game, he forgot to be gracious, forthright and sporting. He was out of practice, but that is no excuse.

Texans seem to think everything is bigger and better in Texas. A guy at the bar said that line to some texans bragging about Texas.
