This fight has been scheduled for June 21 to replace Kirk Johnson/Lewis because of an injury to Johnson.

Lewis (40-1-2, 31 knockouts)
Klitschko (32-1, 31 knockouts)

I have seen a line of -525/+425 and O/U 8.5 rounds at Olympic. I have seen Vitali Klitschko fight a few times and must say I give him a better shot then the odds indicate. He is technically sound, very intelligent and has the power to make his opponents nervous. His straight right hand is something to be feared. Granted he hasn't fought the stiffest competition but I still give him a good chance against Lewis nonetheless.

Lewis seems to be getting more arrogant as he ages and thus has predicted the fight won't go the distance.

``I do not get paid overtime,'' he said. ``Klitschko has been calling me out for some time. But he is in big trouble. He should be careful what he wishes for. On June 21, he is going to find out what it is like to be in with an A-class world champion.''

Any opinions???

THE LAST TIME LEWIS GOT OVER CONFIDENT HE GOT FLOORED BY
THE ROCK

IF THIS FIGHT WOULD HAVE TAKEN PLACE BEFORE SANDERS KO'D
VITALI'S BROTHER, I WOULD BE ALL OVER THE +425 BUT...

#1 COREY SANDERS IS TALL WITH ALOT OF POWER, JUST LIKE LEWIS, E. STEWART WILL BREAK DOWN THE TAPE OF THAT FIGHT AND COME UP WITH A PLAN TO MIMIC SANDERS.

#2 IF VLADIMIR HAS A SUSPECT CHIN, VITALI MAY AS WELL

THAT SAID, I STILL THINK VITILI HAS A BETTER CHANCE OF BEATING LEWIS THAN ANYONE ELSE. HIS SIZE AND POWER
POSE A THREAT TO ANYONE HE SWINGS AT. COMBINE THAT WITH LEWIS' SUSPECT CHIN AND +425 SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD.

I WILL BE ON VITALI, BUT I WOULDN'T LOAD UP ON IT.

Regardless of what he is saying publicly, I don't think Lewis will take Klitschko lightly. The couple of times Lewis has been floored are when he simply showed up for the payday. Lennox is at his best when he thinks that the other guy may have a shot. I'm betting the under.

I AGREE badjab, THIS ONE SHOULD END QUIKLY.

OLYMPIC HAS THE UNDER 8.5 ROUNDS @ -135
I FIGURED IT WOULD BE MORE LIKE -200

BY THE WAY, OLYMPIC NOW HAS VITALI @ +415

UPDATE

UPDATE

VITALI +400
UNDER -150

IF YOU LIKE EITHER OF THOSE YOU MIGHT WANT TO HURRY.
LINES ARE MOVING PRETTY FAST FOR A FIGHT THAT IS NINE DAYS AWAY.

ANOTHER OPTION IS VITALI BY KO OR TKO +525,
HE PROBABLY WON'T WIN A DECISION.

ALL LINES @ OLYMPIC

A QUESTION I HAVE, IS IF THE CHANGE IN FIGHTERS FAVORS THE UNDERDOG HERE AT ALL?.....

IF LEWIS IS PREPARING A FIGHT FOR ONE FIGHTER AND THEN CHANGES FIGHTERS ABOUT TWO WEEKS OUT FROM THE BOUT...I WONDER IF IT AFFECTS THE APPROACH HE TAKES INTO THE THING...

IS THERE A DIFFERENECE IN STYLE BETWEEN THE REPLACEMENT AND THE ORIGINAL OPPONENT?...IF LWEIS IS GEARING HIS TRAINING TOWARDS THE STYLE OF A CERTAIN OPPONENT AND THEN CHANGES THE OPPONENT TWO WEEKS OUT ...THEN IM ASSUMING HE HAS TO TAKE ANOTHER APPROACH ...ASSUMING THE OPPONENTS HAVE DIFFERENT STYLES...AND WEAKNESSES....IF THEY DO THEN THE UNDER-DOG HAS TO HAVE A BETTER SHOT THAN IF LWEIS WAS PREPARING FOR HIM ALL ALONG...

I CANT IMAGINE THE LEWIS CAMP THINKS MUCH OF VITALI IF THEY ACCEPETED THIS MATCH ON SUCH SHORT NOTICE AND DIDNT RESCHEDULE FOR A LATER DATE...

ITS JUST A QUESTION TO ASK...PERSONALLY I CANT GIVE AN ANSWER ...MAYBE SOME OF THE OTHERS IN THIS FORUM HAVE AN OPINION ON THIS ISSUE

Good question Cooz.

I can't imagine that the sudden change in opponents would benefit Vitali more than Lewis. Lennox is the veteran after all and has the benefit of having been in numerous big fights. Klitchsko certainly wasn't preparing to fight for the title in this bout. The only question that remains is...did Lewis consider Kirk Johnson to be such a tomato can that he took his training lightly (or at least less than he would have trained for Klitschko). I tend to think it's a wash. I'm still debating about that under. It seems likely -- especially considering the fact that Vitali is a banger. However, it's also possible that both of these guys will be so wary of the other's power that they dance and jab rather than exchange (like we knew Tyson would).

Still leaning towards... TIMBER!!! under 8 rounds.

IF THE CHANGE FAVORS ANYONE ITS LEWIS. VITALI WAS TRAINING TO FIGHT A RELATIVELY UNKNOWN FIGHTER THAT HAD LITTLE CHANCE OF WINNING. NOW HES FIGHTING FOR THE PRIZE AGAINST THE BEST HEAVYWEIGHT SINCE YOUNG TYSON.

badjab
GOOD POINT, KIRK JOHNSON IS NO VITALI KLITSCHKO. BUT I THINK LEWIS LEARNED HIS LEASON ON SHORT CUTTING HIS TRAINING AND OVER LOOKING AN OPPONENT...(ROCK)

THAT SAID, I PLAN ON LAYING:
3 UNITS TO MAKE 2 ON THE UNDER
1 UNIT TO MAKE 5.25 ON KLITSCHKO BY KO OR TKO...VALUE PLAY

GOOD QUESTION cooz3
KEEP POSTING!

just my 2 cents guys

saw on the tube last night that the lewis camp was looking for tall guys to spar with him because KLITSCHKO is 2-3 inches taller than lennox...

lennox says he is going to be aggressive and attack him and that is something that will be different for vitali....

Good Lennox Odds anywhere?

Good Lennox Odds anywhere?

I think Lennox does him for sure, the 2-week change has to favor him, adjusting from Johnson to Klitschko is easier than adjusting from the undercard fighter to Lennox which Vitaly has to do.

I am looking for the shortest odds on Lewis out there, anyone find anything lower than -450?

Lewis is too good for the lesser skilled Klitchko brother.

YOU'RE RIGHT, IT WILL BE A DIFFERENT SITUATION THAN WHAT VITALI IS USED TO. BUT I DONT THINK THIS IS THE RIGHT FIGHT
FOR LEWIS TO BE CHANGING HIS STYLE OR GAME PLAN. IF HE IS AGGRESSIVE, THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF CHANCES FOR VITALI TO COUNTER.

THANKS FOR YOUR 2 CENTS, I THINK IT MAKES THE UNDER A VERY STRONG PLAY.

tschrieber
I AGREE THAT THE CHANGE FAVORS LEWIS, AND I AGREE THAT LEWIS IS THE BETTER AND MORE EXPERIENCED BOXER.
BUT THAT IS WAY TOO MUCH WOOD FOR ME TO LAY AGAINST A GUY LIKE KLITSCHKO. JUST MY OPINION.
(BY THE WAY -450 IS THE LOWEST I'VE SEEN)

KEEP POSTING AND GOOD LUCK

101 Lennox Lewis -495
102 Vitali Klitschko +395

line going down in favor of Klit.

Gamblers willing to take a chance putting cash on Klit taking Lewis out to dance at the Staple Center.

OK here is a theory that I am sure I will get bashed for, but that I truely believe....

The Klit brothers said that they would never fight each other. Both were top contenders for the title. They eventually would have to face each other, unless one of them took a fall. I think Brother Number 1 was paid off to take a fall against Corrie Sanders, so that Vitaly could pursue the title. I think that Vitaly is gonna win the title since the other brother took the fall.

Call me crazy...but I think that boxing is as fixed as wrestling. Im gonna load up on Vitaly....

interesting theory...i remember watching that fight....vitaly was in his brothers corner....maybe that set the mood wrong...i dont know...but he looked horrible in that fight....nasty punch after nasty punch was being delivered on the money by sanders...vlad was never in the match IMO...

maybe the boxing world wants to stir things up and have a new champ....hate to think there would be fixing involved with the 2 smartest (academic wise) boxers ever...wouldn't think they would stoop to those levels to get a belt....

think this goes under....aint touching who wins...should be great regardless...too bad i will be at a wedding and wont be able to see it

KLITSCHKO IS UP TO +435
THE UNDER IS NOW -170

SOMEBODY DROPPED A LOAD ON LEWIS!

EVEN IF YOUR CONSPIRACY THEORY, ONE BROTHER TAKING A FALL TO GIVE THE OTHER A CHANCE AT THE TITLE, IS TRUE. (WHICH ITS NOT) ONE OF THEM STILL HAS TO BEAT LEWIS TO GET THE TITLE!

IF YOUR PUTTING MONEY ON KLITSCHKO, IT SHOULD BE DUE TO THE DECENT CHANCE HE HAS OF KNOCKING LEWIS OUT. NOT BECAUSE YOU THINK ITS RIGGED.

BOXING HAS POLITICS THAT CAN GET IN THE WAY OF MAKING GOOD FIGHTS, AND SOMETIMES GOOD SCORECARDS. BUT TAKE YOUR "BOXING IS AS FIXED AS WRESTLING" CRAP SOMEWHERE ELSE.

"the bunker"
guys

guys

i just lost a long reply on this...let`s try again....

if oliver mccall and rahmann got lucky,i don`t see why klitscko has no chance.....6`8" tall....technically sound(even if a little stiff),and a big puncher with a decent jab...

i sense a little overconfidence from lennox....flush with victory after the tyson blow-out....

lennox claims to want to be very aggressive...i think that`s a bad idea....the klitscchko`s tend to fade as tough fights get longer...and the sanders blowout aside, the purrity and byrd losses were snatched from probable victory by injury(or more probably fatigue and lack of intestinal fortitude)....

and lennox doesn`t seem to recoup real well when significantly hurt in a fight...he is also getting older...and coming off a full year`s layoff...

that said,i still think lennox ia a solid top ten all time heavyweight.....no,actually,given his size and ability to box,top five...definitely top five...

i still think this is a dangerous fight....if lennox blows klitscko out,a real feather in his cap and another big notch on that legacy belt.....and a serious blow to those who have claimed that the klitschko`s are legit tip top heavyweights...i said if a blowout...if it`s a tough, hard fought bout,it helps the klitschko`s...even a loss...funny how most seem to think of them as one entity...imo,wlad is the better klitschko...

but, over aggressiveness in this fight could be a dangerous thing...against a taller guy that can hurt you if he catches you...

btw...anybody with access to hbo latino should catch tonight`s javier jauregui(recent win over hot, unbeaten prospect alex trujillo and 2 wins over jose luis castillo) vs tito trinidad`s cousin juan gomez trinidad(recently k.o.`ed tough efren hinojosa)....should be an excellent, world class bout.....and the undercard bout is also a winner...it`s in spanish, but who cares...excellent bouts....

finally...i agree with bl about the fixes...not about bigtease going elsewhere......not by the fighters in a fight of this magnitude....bigtease,it`s o.k. to hang out,bud....i will say that i believe there is a reasonable amount of shenanigans involved in some of the judging....some of these horrible decisions couldn`t possibly be happenstance..... not saying it`s rife with cheating....but,where there`s money to be made....well,you know the rest...

Hey BOXLOCKS.....why dont you kiss my a$$??:moon:

Are you in boxing? Do you know the politics?? No I am sure you are not. You think people cant be bought out? Of course they can. It happens in all sports. Not all the time, but trust me it happens. It is only human nature to take the quick buck. Some people arent as honest as you would like to believe. It may not be happening in this case.....but I surely wouldnt be surprised.

I am going to make a stone-cold lock prediction.

Klit will knock Lewis out in the 7th round.

BOX didnt really say that much for a kissing ass , other than disagree with you. And you said you would probably be bashed anyways.

If BOX dont think that boxing is fixed at times then he must be one of them rooks. There is money to be made son. All we got to do is find the side the fix is on.

I like your prediction. Not sure I could lay much cash on it. Too bad it wasnt +1500 like when Serena plays. I could drop a C note on that.
