Woodson Have never seen term "kiteboarding" listed on app under hazardous sports--however after after the handgliding-vehicle racing etc some will list
or other hazardous sports.
I don't think it would incur much of rating if any but if not asked about--don't volunteer.
P.S. Agree with AR when he told you to seek out agent in your area. They can be big help on obtaining best rate--ask your friends or co-workers if they have one they would recommend.
--believe we had question on smoking before.
1st let look at one fact.
You can have never smoked a cig in your life-apply and get select non smokers rates--start smoking 2 packs a day after issued and tell them and they can't change your rates for term period purchased.
--also we have the honesty is best policy--and do whats best for client.
Have had this situation arise more than once--
Ask client question on app--have you smoked cigs in last 2 years.
Client--I quit 18 months ago.
Me-Thats not 2 years
Client--Whats the diff
Me--bout double the premium.
Now as an agent with ethics in mind how do you proceed? Tell him to wait six months and come back--how'd you feel if he got killed in that 6 months. What if client says--they won't know--ok I quit 3 years ago-not 18 months.
Knowing what I know and if I was not acting as agent but sitting on other side of table this would be my take.
1st- you have to pass urine test as AR already said. If you have very small trace of nicotine show up underwriter "could" write off as recipient of 2ndary smoke.
Next they will write for attending physician statement. Generally Dr will note if you are smoker but sometimes not--however if he prescribed smoke inhibiting scripts to you 6 months ago your goose is cooked.
OK What if--you claimed non smoker they issue policy non smoker--you die in a year and they recheck medical records and find you had in fact smoked with in the past 2 years--what then.
Won't commit to concrete answer--but will speculate.
If they could prove that you had disease (which resulted in death) that was smoke related and knew it prior to applying for insurance and ommited it from app-they would probably deny claim under fraud clause.
If however you died of cause unrelated to smoking but they found you did smoke less than 2 years ago and could prove it--I believe most probable action on their part would be they would pay death claim but reduce amount that premium would have paid for under smokers rates.
Again just speculation as have never had above occur--did have someone die that had inadvertantly given wrong year on birth date--and was discovered on death certificate. Claim was paid at benefit premium would have purchased at date of policy.
