The reason the majority of pepole dont give a damn about soccer is that ....it doesn't raise any $$$$$$ and its freaking boring. Go ask 100 people on the street and 90 % could not name 2 people on any team....hmmmmmm. Go figure

The reason Americans don't like soccer is because we live in a land of instant gratification and while battling obesity and ADHD they need constant scoring or at least physical beatings to stay interested.

That, and soccer is a thinking-man's game, and most you guys here are fucking morans.

It is no wonder why you are among the least popular posters on this site. I am willing to bet this lack of popularity extends to your personal life.

well, you can gamble on it...some people like anything that has a gambling aspect to it...i knew a guy that would wager on what color car would come down the street...

it`s boring to americans because we have other sports in which the excitement factor is 10 fold what soccer is...

some people like a little excitement after working all week to earn a damn living..and seriously, theres more strategy in american football than soccer...it`s much more involved and strategic....

the international competitve aspect is interesting and a refreshing change of pace(actually,in some european countries today, being nationalistic is considered fascist by the moonbat elite...belief in "globalism" is the only politically correct, acceptable way of perceiving themselves)... so it`s not hard to understand when their fans go gah-gah at an opportunity to express a little nationalism...

but when you have other more intense, interesting options available for your viewing pleasure in the market place,it`s not surprising that soccer comes in a poor second....

if you like soccer,fine....no need to apologize for that...but that door swings both ways..

actually i'm popular enough in my real life not to need imaginary friends on an internet forum. but i'm glad you've got a chubby for me it's cute.

What part of my post got you so upset? Soccer isn't "American". Is that really so much a stretch for you?

Or the fact that I took a shot at the anti-soccer crowd knowing I'm in the minority. In every group of guys I've been friends with part of the fun was taking shots at each other. I guess you are the one guy who took things personally and went home and cried about things.

You make a good point, I'll give you that.

A soccer match is the sum of the parts. It's not necessarily 1 or 2 plays, it's the culmination of the ebb and flow during a game. To those who are big soccer fans it can be very exciting even in a 0-0 match. Part of the enjoyment is the build up it takes to get the ball in the back of the net.

Another major factor is whether or not you've actually played soccer. I think it's a lot like hockey in the way that unless you grew up with personal experience in that sport to appreciate the nuances it's hard to get a casual fan interested.

If you would have taken a shot at me you would have been the one who was doing all the crying.
