ESPN hired Rush for his opinions, they got it. They could not take the heat for his opinions and caved in and got Rush to resign.
Nick Douglas wrote..."The bottom line is that any time someone degrades another person publicly and then brings up race as a reason for said degradation, people are going to be up in arms, white or black. "
Wrong, it's not anytime someone degrades another person publicly",,,heck this is done all the time.
It's all about white-man says something about black-man,,PERIOD.
This should have been only for Donovan to respond, but no,,we had to have this bru ha ha once again.

as big joe said, the espn suits knew what they were getting----& got it. from what i understand is that the suits didn't want to fire rush, but changed their mind when tom jackson told them he would quit if they didn't get rid of rush.

I know they (espn commentators) now say they should have picked up on it, and the fact that they did not, is our lost.
I wasn't watching, but that segment could have been great to watch. I think both sides would have been provocative!
That's what espn was wanting when they hired Rush,,and they missed the "homerun". In fact, if this would have been challenged, it never would have blow up to this level.
Terrible miss by the boys of espn.

Good discussion. StevieD- you may be right about the conservative media as I am not sure.

from what i understand is that the suits didn't want to fire rush, but changed their mind when tom jackson told them he would quit if they didn't get rid of rush.
Too bad they didn't correct what Dusty Baker said a few mos back. As a matter of fact isn't that statement Dusty made, ( About Blacks & Ball Players of Color being better suited to playing in hot weather), similar to what Jimmy The Greek got fired for years ago?

Big Joe it worked for ESPN. There rating were up this week. I don't thnk they wil stay high. But they had people stop by just to see if anything more would be said. I guess a few maybe back if they like what they saw. Funny thing is when they went this rout. They wanted just some Joe blow to be there to offer a opinion. If that was the case. Then invite you or me, or anyone but a Rush who is no average Joe Blow. I mean his opinion comes before he does and they are going to be one sided.

,,but DJV, that's who they want. They wanted someone who was easy to dislike, not some avg. Joe Blow.
It seems they got just what they wanted and the four guys just missed it! Maybe they should go, for lack of performance reasons.
I don't watch they show, mainly I don't like listening to the "insiders" in their suits, laughing and talking over each other.
I get nothing from the show.

"the bunker"
somebody please coerce

somebody please coerce

john madden into saying something insensitive towards blacks so we can get him the hell off monday night football....

the thing that bothers me is that clinton gets a pass from the women`s groups(and i`ll say right off the bat,i backed clinton all the way in that witch hunt),but clarence thomas and arnold get skewered....

i think we all know that everyone`s motives are purely political for those that can`t think for themselves.....on both sides...

b.j.`s in the white house,c-nt hairs on coke cans.....one woman said arnold held her blouse up and took a picture of her breasts........how the hell did he manage that?....is she a quadraplegic?.....

so funny....so pathetic....
