Hoosier Dome 7/22/92

Faith No more opens, followed by 3 hours of Metallica, followed by 2.5 hours of GnR.

The best concert of all time, and I knew it when I was on that second row. I'll always be a huge Metallica fan.

Shocked GNR performed for more then 10 minutes:facepalm:

Note: Metallica hated touring with GNR, they said it was the biggest mistake they ever made agreeing to tour with them.

True, but 65 loved it. GnR put on a hell of a show too.

That's what happened when they came to town. GNR lasted maybe 2 songs.

I've seen them several times, in my lifetime, I've probably only seen Aerosmith and Alvin Lee more times, maybe Pearl Jam as they tour more often now, but an all time favorite band.
Years ago they toured with Kid Rock, Pearl Jam, and Korn (fuck korn, they sucked) and James had hurt his back so he couldn't perform. Kid Rock and Jason Neustadt did most the vocals and it was still awesome. Anyway they decided to do a redo and come back to play another show for free for everyone that had a ticket stub from that original show. Needless to say not nearly as many people kept their stubs. I kept all 8. That got us 12th row dead center for the best show ice ever seen, except for Led Zeppelin maybe.

The biggest mistake GNR ever made was allowing Metallica to even share the same stage as them. Metallica isn't terrible. And they're a nice little story as far as music goes. But to even mention them in the same breath as Axl and company is a disgrace. Axl Rose has done more for music and created the worlds greatest catalog of music by any mortal. He is the definition of rock and roll and the music of GN'R can't be touched by anyone let alone Metallica of all people.

No mention of Boy George and his catalog of music?

my two favorites of all time. I don't hold GNR this much higher though. Metallica has always been consistently better live.

July 22, 1992 Indianapolis Hoosier Dome. the best concert I ever attended. we bought outrageously priced tickets at the time ($130 each), and we stood third row center. 2 hours Faith no More plus 3 hours of Metallica plus 2.5 hours of GNFR. Guns didn't even go off until after midnight. I knew then I would never see a concert this great.
