Unreal flooding. It has been reported from some outlets in Louisiana as a 1000yr flood event in some places.
Hard to imagine. Tragic situation. Glad you could help!

Fema will pay up to 32k and provide cheap loans. Bad situ that could easily be avoided. I have a maximum available property flood policy in an area less than 1 mile from a major levee break in 2005. My annual premium is 600. Silly not to have flood insurance imo

A neighbor has fam in baton rouge. She is doing some great things with group that has been called lakeview angels. I will talk with her tomorrow night when i get back to nola. I am handling property claims in areas hit by flood southwest of lafayette today, then hitting the heavily affecred area of baton rouge tomorrow.
