My friend I am a sports research analyst by profession, and I hate to see people week in week out lose their hard earned money on these MAC teams. The best MAC team would finish last in every major conference in the NCAA.

One announcer on a talk show called the MAC the Macdonalds Athletically Challenged Conference and that the Cincinatti Bengals are going to finish last this year and take perhaps the biggest Qb bust in the history of the NFL Byron Leftwich. I personally cannot argue with that statement as if you put any average NCAA QB from another conference in the MAC he will immediately become a heisman contender. The Mac cannot even come close to matching other conferences in terms of speed, and overall athletic ability. Vegas is giving us gifts anytime a MAC School plays out of conference. Hellah 10 if you have any doubts just look at Marshall's out of conference record.

My point is simple when you cap a game put your money on a WELL ROUNDED TEAM that can play good defense and offense, which in my opinion rules out the entire MAC Conference.

First of all - welcome to the board

Second of all - Cappin the MAC has bought me and new car and a new computer. Its basically the only conference I really follow in depth. Lots of money to be made with the mid-majors. The conference is strong yet they are getting the respect they deserve.

Third of all - The MAC (also known as the Marshall Athletic Conf.) is the strongest mid-major in the nation. In fact the MAC went 7-0 against CUSA last year.

You sound more like a Ohio St fan to me. Why dont you tell that too Bowling Green who knocked off Mizzou and Kansas and Northwestern...tell that Toledo who is 3-1 against the Big 10. Tell that too Marshall who at least is scheduling teams to get better....they havbe Miami(FL) Tennesse and Florida St within the next coming years.

You say that any MAC team would finish last in any of the major conferences. Typically, most last place teams win one or two games at the most in their conference if any. Since Bowling Green beat Mizzou and Kansas, they would not finish last in the Big 12. Other Major teams that were beaten by MAC teams include North Carolina (this year), Penn St., Minnesota, and Purdue just to name a few. Now, I understand you think the MAC is inferior, but to the elite programs only. No MAC team can stay with Tennessee, Florida, Miami, or Florida St. for four quarters. But several MAC teams might beat the teams in the middle of these power conferences, given the opportunity.

I'm sorry if I said something wrong. I just wanted to let hellah know that I enjoy reading his post. I am a 50 yr old female who lives in Hawaii. I care for my 96 yr old grandma. After she goes to sleep, I spend my time reading about football because I love football. I don't have access to gamble here in Hawaii and the only contest I play is one for Pros. I just stumbled on this forum and started reading the write ups hoping I could get info to help me choose 5 teams for the contest. I didn't mean to offend anyone here, least of all hellah. I think he is one of the better posters in all the forums that I visit.I'm not looking for a free ride cause like I said, I have to choose only pro teams. I just enjoy reading his post and wanted to pay him a compliment. He makes me laugh. I know it's wrong to lurk, but I havn't posted any plays cause I don't bet football. And even in the football contest, I only got 3 of 5 right. I was just happy that hellah won the bet cause I read in one of his post he said he wasn't good at picking the mon nite game. I was happy for him, not because I tailed his bet....I CAN'T BET IN HAWAII!! Again, I'm very sorry for posting what I did, but had to reply because you really hurt my feelings. Hellah, I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused, but wanted to say you know your football(MAC). Good luck with all your bets!

First of all, back away from the crack pipe and take a break. The best team in the MAC would finish last in every major conference??????????????????? Hmm so Marshall would finish last in the weak Big 10? So Bowling Green would finish last in the Big 12 behind Kansas and Mizzou? Would Miami of Ohio finish last in the ACC? Come on son get a grip, none of the teams mentioned above would finish last in any conference this year with the possible exceptions of the Pac 10 and SEC.
