Update:

1) Next week will be the final regular series tournament.

2) The following week will be a regular series tournament limited to those who were unable to register for the earlier VIPpoker tournament.

3) The third week will be the final Major, and final tournament in the series, when the series champion will be crowned.

4) A Tournament of Champions may occur following these final three tournaments, depending on deposit/withdrawl issues.

There are a couple issues about the makeup tournament that might come up.

Some people registered but couldn't log in to play. However they still might have auto-folded into the top 10.

Secondly, if only like 5 people show up for a makeup tournament doesn't that guarantee them between 60-100 points just for showing up?

This sounds like it is coming from someone who played in the 2nd tournament and won points!

It's not the best situation. The 2nd tourney that was botched up only had 16 entrants in it. And back then, many people were playing (or trying to) that are not currently playing anymore. Some of the better players were not able to get in, so in many ways that tourney was not a true tourney either.

But I do see your point about the makeup tournament.

That's why I suggested originally (in week 2) that the tourney results be disgarded due to the problems that VIP had.

But the makeup tourney is what was decided - so I guess that is what is gonna happen.

if there are/were objections they should have been made at the time the ruling was made. It's definitely too late now to go back and review so i'm sticking with the original ruling whether good or bad.

phenom has the list of players eligible to play in the makeup tourney and we will go with the ones that he has on his list, no others.

i don't even know who's on the list except maybe myself but i will eliminate myself so that there isn't any complaints about me being involved

Does anyone have a paypal account and wouldn't mind doing a transfer? I only have $15 left in my pokerstars account. That will get me through the next tourney, but leave me short for the final week.

My thought is that I could send you $35 in paypal ($33 for the tourney, $2 to cover paypal charges). Once you receive it, you can transfer me money via pokerstars.

I guess I could just win next week, but based on history, that probably won't happen :mj07:

Yes, well with me sucking it up the past few weeks (although losing this past week KK vs A-10 sucked) I AM getting a bit desperate.

So desperate that random fixes to "my problem" included suggesting allowing anyone into the makeup tournament, but only issuing points if you missed the first one (at least there would be some competition then). I had a whole slew of possible ways I could lose less ground in the points race. :142smilie :142smilie

I might be relegated to calling in a bomb threat to Poker Stars that day. :shrug:
