Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas is pretty cool. I only played it once but it was memorable. I've played a lot of courses in the Vegas area, but this is always the one that sticks out.

For what it's worth, the Belterra course we have played a couple times at the golf outings is a great track.

Peachtree Golf Club and East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. These were good enough for Bobby Jones. Peachtree hosted the Walker Cup matches in the 90"s. East Lake was Jones home course. Both courses are fantastic.

Looking to play in Vegas in April. At least one round and possibly two. Played TPC Las Vegas a couple of years ago and am intrigued by Bali Hai as its right on the strip.
What makes it memorable and what other course in the area would you recommend?

We all know Beaner has never played golf in his life...:mj07:

TPC of Phoenix from last year. Nothing to write home about but golfing in early April when you live in Iowa is never a bad thing...

Had the good fortune to play several of the great ones. But favorite Top 5, in order, are:

1. Whistling Straits in Kohler, WI last summer the Thursday and Friday following the PGA Championship- unreal scenery and in the wind was hard as ever.

2. Pebble- scenery and history make it what it is

3. East Lake in Atlanta- played many times and each one is as good as the last. Just pure golf.

4. Doral Blue Monster- many times also back in the day when staying at the marriott you could play it for 50 dollars more on your hotel bill . In the wind was a bear.

5. Valhalla in Louisville, again right after the Ryder Cup in 2008 with rough so damn tough. That place has such a bowl effect you can imagine all the crowd in the amphitheater on many holes.

By the way, such an honor to post after the bigot idiot above me.

Black is mostly open but the fairways are very tight, the traps are all over the course and if you end up off the fairway (which is common), the rough is very thick and high. If you break 100, it's an accomplishment. I'm not exaggerating either.
