Had the good fortune to play several of the great ones. But favorite Top 5, in order, are:
1. Whistling Straits in Kohler, WI last summer the Thursday and Friday following the PGA Championship- unreal scenery and in the wind was hard as ever.
2. Pebble- scenery and history make it what it is
3. East Lake in Atlanta- played many times and each one is as good as the last. Just pure golf.
4. Doral Blue Monster- many times also back in the day when staying at the marriott you could play it for 50 dollars more on your hotel bill . In the wind was a bear.
5. Valhalla in Louisville, again right after the Ryder Cup in 2008 with rough so damn tough. That place has such a bowl effect you can imagine all the crowd in the amphitheater on many holes.
By the way, such an honor to post after the bigot idiot above me.
Lambert Acres - Joker might even have proof, I think there may be a video:0corn
Hellava list here, wineguy....:toast:
My brother used to be the executive chef at Blackwolf Run--the American club-- which is another of the Kohler courses in that area.
He was able to play golf at any of the courses on Monday mornings before 9 am for 50 dollars.
I was fortunate to join him for a couple of rounds at Blackwolf run and at the Irish course at whistling straights, but I haven't played the straights course.
My dad lives in the area and I've been fortunate to attend a couple of PGA championships and the Senior US Open held there.

We all know Beaner has never played golf in his life...:mj07:
TPC of Phoenix from last year. Nothing to write home about but golfing in early April when you live in Iowa is never a bad thing...![]()

We played all three courses, and I actually liked Blackwolf Run as much as any, just not the same scenery. Played Irish Course too as part of the Pete "Dyeabolical" package. Pretty much emulates The Straits. Played Straits twice which was a treat. That whole area is just awesome, in the middle of nowhere it seems.

Very cool!
Hoping to join you all for the golf outing in June but no promises this far out.....[emoji106]

JAZBAMA HOW DID YOU GET TO PLAY AUGUSTA NATIONAL.I HAVE TALKED TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE BUT HAVE NEVER TALKED TO ANYBODY THAT PLAYED AUGUSTA NATIONAL.
WE WANT DETAILS JAZBAMA x41:
Worked for a company where the owner was a member and I was in the marketing department calling on some pretty important customers to our business. He invited 2 of my customers to go play and I was also invited. Stepped up on 1 tee and split the middle of the fairway between the 2 bunkers. Flag was tucked back left and my caddy said don't miss it left of the pin,,Then he said don't miss it short,:scared,I said man,,I am shaking,,,and if I could tell you where my miss was going to be I would be on the tour,,,Shot 79 from members tees with a birdie on number 2,the par 5,,,The course is not hard, it is of course the greens that are so undulated and QUICK,,IT was a day I will never forget.
