How to be a moderator!
Ah! to be or not to be that is the question! tis matters of nobility that not get you the spoils? Is truer the sanctity of law not that which bequeaths a person most remarkably as a steadfast loyalty to serve others?

what does this all mean?

simple...

Im about to outline the very qualities that I personally use when looking for a new temp mod!

Im going to break things down into sections for everyone (so it wont be as complicated as the opening statement)

Personality:

I look for someone that is friendly, open, and talkative....but a good listener as well.

no one likes that "guy" that knows all the rules and just talks and talks about how much he knows better

but someone that can talk openly about anything without bringing emotion into it is already a step ahead of the game!

RULES: the rules are VERY VERY SIMPLY (complicated)

no cussing, no flooding, no spam, be nice!

seems simple enough BUT there are so many variations and arguments that can be brought up about each one that I look for someone that can tell the diffeerecne between

OH YOU BUTT HEAD!...when its meant to be sarcastic

and

you O* idiot! ...which is pretty bad (yes, i did use a letter which represents NO word that i can think of....im not wanting to give anyone bad thoughts )

anyway...being able to see how the rules work and the correct action that should be taken is probably the hardest part of being a mod.

DECISIVENESS!

being quick and being able to detect something then taking what you believe the best course of action is pretty important!

I can tell in chat rooms when people are on their toes and can quickly spot a bad situation and try to take care of it

FAIR!

fairness is absolutely important

just because you like someone and they act bad is not a reason to go light on them

but on the other hand...if you dont like them you cannot act harder on them

this is hard to tell before I temp mod but I can definately tell AFTER I temp mod someone if they are being "fair" in regards to being "buddy buddy" and "garr enemy"

GLORY!

many times I can spot a phony a mile away.....people that want to be a mod just for the purpose of saying YEAH LOOK AT ME!!!!

~this is not a good reason to be a mod

SERVITUDE and GOOD ORDER

those that aspire or try their best to keep things fair, clean, orderly, fun while HAVING FUN will do best!

MANAGEMENT!

ultimately....being a moderator is about being a manager (no, not like the ones at McDonalds :p)

but a manager/peace keeper of the chat room.

people do look up to you for direction and others try to make you look silly. Being able to direct and answer questions in the proper manner is a key form of management....chat room management.

lastly

my words of advice

Any mod can ban
a good mod can ban correctly
a great mod can fix a problem without banning at all!

Becoming a Mod or Admin
Here are tips on becoming more liked or becoming a mod/admin on PR2.

-Follow chat rules (No swearing, flooding, nuking, etc.)
-Don't hack (Cheat Engine, etc.)
-Don't be a jerk
-Don't ask to become a mod/admin
-Don't send mean PMs
-Don't make levels like (e. g. rick roll levels, press y+z and rate 5 for crown)
-Don't ask for passwords

If you want to become a mod/admin, do what I listed. It will help a bit.
