I've been reading about the Big Green Egg and everyone seems to love them.
I think I would need the large one. Besides the grill and the "nest" what do I need?
Do they need special charcoal? How do you use it as a smoker?

Get it from a dealer or wholesale, I got mine wholesale and did some research on it before hand about 4 years back.
I have the large and it was the best $$ ever spent, great for entertaining.
Google big green egg and that should answer all of your questions.

Been a while since I've dropped by jack's watering hole; but with 2 youngins in the house, I don't do much drinking unless its on bowling night....
Howevah...
The Iowa Hawkeyes are just mere minutes from commencing an A$$-Whoopin' on the Wolverines from Michigan and I'm hittin' the beers tonight in their honor...
Just cracked number 5; I've got a variety of offerings from a number of microbrewers in the fridge; the wifey has the kids the rest of the night and I'm ready for some Hawkeye football!!!!

I have relatives all over the Badger state and usually bring back a few cases when I'm up there. If I'm running low and want some, the Wisky state line is less than a hour away from here....
