i dont ever remember saying anything about ramirez as a player. he might be one of my favorite indians of all time. the guy can flat out hit.

but with him, the "little things" or "obvious things" are always a circus. he's an absolute offensive machine. probably one of the best, if not the best, pure hitter of this generation. but how can you act surprised when he fails to do something obvious or simple like show up to the park? he's in his own "manny world". see, im not being critical. but i guess youd have to live in cleveland or boston to understand what i mean. its not a criticism of him as a player. but hes eccentric to say the least and he marches to his own beat. im not sure if he grasps the concept of how great a player he is or how much he means to an organization or city. he's just "manny".

I understand what your saying Gman..
But i have always been 1 of those fans who does not care what an athlete does off the field.
It never bothered me about drug use, domestic abuse, drinking and driving,As long as he performs on the field and produces ,i am okay with that.
Just put up the numbers and win my city a championship.

The moron answer is definitely relevant here. There is no telling what the primadona fvctard will do next. Boston will be lucky if they get rid of him.

July 27, 2005: With right fielder Trot Nixon injured and a short bench, Ram?rez takes the day off, despite manager Terry Francona telling him he was needed.

July 26, 2005: Jogs to first base on a grounder to second with a man on first in the 10th inning against Tampa Bay, but the ball is booted and he reaches despite his lethargy. The Sox win in 10 innings.

Aug. 30, 2003: Reportedly sighted at a bar in a Boston hotel socializing with Yankee Enrique Wilson despite being too sick to play (throat inflammation) in a three-game series against New York. He did not report for a doctor?s appointment at Fenway Park the next morning.

Aug. 29, 2003: In an interview with ESPN, Ram?rez says he would like to play for the Yankees.

Sept. 9, 2002: Does not leave batter?s box after hitting a ground ball against Tampa Bay.

Sept. 7, 2002: Requests song "Good Times (I Get High)" by Styles for his plate appearances. Song is an ode to drugs with obscene lyrics that are played over Fenway Park PA system.

May 18, 2002: Loses diamond earring sliding into third base while rehabbing with the Pawtucket Red Sox in Syracuse. After the game, 13 PawSox players and the Syracuse grounds crew combed the third base bag area and found the stud, but not the diamond that was worth a reported $15,000.

May 10, 2002: Breaks finger sliding headfirst into Seattle catcher.

Dec. 10, 2001: Says he was uncomfortable in his first season in Boston, prompting Red Sox ownership to expand the clubhouse and create a separate room for media interviews.

Sept. 27, 2001: Misses last home game of the season for "personal reasons," a game that includes the team honoring Cal Ripken Jr. during his last game at Fenway.

You are probably one of the supporters of Terrell Owens also. :mj20:

Have you ever heard of the New England Patriots and how they won their Super Bowls? :mj07:
