I got about 10 texts thru out the North Texas game and my cell phone didn't stop ringing and people leaving messages congratulating me. Facebook messages from teachers,students and family .. I feel like Benedict Arnold .. How could I play against North Texas ..it sure wasn't discipline.. yes it was stupidity ... I don't think anyone outside of Conf USA and North Texas fans knows how good Hamlett is. He ended up with 24 pts 12 rebounds[11 def rebs] ,5 assists ,7-18 FG,2-4 from the 3 and 8-8 from the FT line. And I knew his talent but thought that Big 10 conf wouldn't let him do what he did. Wrong.. He handled those guys just like he did vs WKU,UTSA,ODU,Marshall etc And when you have seen him play live 4 or 5 times I'm kicking myself.
Mean Green play Nova tomorrow.. will today handicapp the game and see the line. But no matter what the line is I'm playing North Texas. I am going to guess without breaking it down Nova is -8 or -9. Jay Wright I' sure is going to do something to slow down Hamlet. But with his handle with the ball and his passing and floaters Cats could be in trouble. Back later
twofingers ..Buddy was like Hamlett...sometimes the competition I over emphasize the teams these guys are playing against . Hamlett did what he did vs all the Conf USA teams and did it to a Big-10 team last night . Sd St plays such great defense and I;m thinking no way are they going to let Buddy get those looks after the game before. But Buddy is so good it really doesn't make a difference who he is playing against. I put my coaching hat on and say" no way am I going to allow this kid to shoot uncontested jumper and contested jumpers . Same with Purdue.. no way are we going to allow this north Texas lefty kid to hurt us.. not sure if that makes any sense to anybody .. but Buddy and Hamlett are dancing and Aztecs and Boilmakers are taking the plane home and I'm a little poorer but maybe not a smile but a smirk because my boys are dancing,
