I am getting excited for the Masters and started to look at who I might pick for a pool I get in. I knew Phil had a good record here, but I didn't realize he has finished in the top 10 11 of the past 12 years, and of those 11 8 have been in the top 5.

Right now I am leaning towards:

Phil
Watney
Mahan
Laird -- although don't like the fact it's his first trip here

I like Mahan this weekend.

Odds are against 1st time players, so I wouldn't touch Laird.

Was at tuesday practice today, Laird looks like he is taking it seriously and good bet for top rookie - only problem is he hits it very high so not so good if windy.

Stand out match up Singh over Quiros 10/11 bluesq - quiros hasn't had a cut here and VJ hitting it sweet today.

Dustin Johnston looking exceptional on practice range so I'm taking him at 28/1

Round 1 play (2pts):

Matt Kuchar to beat Martin Kaymer +120 @ SkyBet [also available @ Stan James and Unibet]
Three missed cuts in three visits over the last three years is Kaymer's record at Augusta National. In his own words, he struggles with the draw necessary for effective course management here and he has also struggled on the greens in his previous visits. He may now be number one in the world, but I can't see this year being hugely different for the German. He should struggle to beat the ever-consistent Kuchar who was last year's leading money winner on the PGA Tour and has maintained that consistency to be 8th in this year's Money List despite being the only player in the top-10 without a win this year.

[unofficial rd1 system plays: Mahan tb Kaymer -105; Kuchar tb Mahan +100; Woods tb Watney -105; Cabrera tb Quiros -110; Johnson D tb Kaymer -105; Molinari F tb Kaymer +120; Choi tb Watson B -103; Scott tb Baddeley +100; Garcia tb Scott +115; Singh tb Baddeley +110]
