Three more fighters have been released by the UFC as lightweight David Bielkheden, welterweight Ryo Chonan, and middleweight David Loiseau have been cut by the promotion following losses in April at UFC 97.

If both have agreed on it then I am shocked that Dana White would not jump at this opportunity to stick it to boxing like he has ALWAYS wanted to do.
Oh and get a HUGE PPV NUMBER as well. Roy Jones would stand ZERO and I mean ZERO chance of beating Silva. So what is Dana Whites concern here. Maybe it is because he isn't the one who came up with the idea.

How does it hurt MMA?? If anything it shows they have more skilled athletes once he submits Jones.
It's not what we do?? This isn't Jose Canseco, it is Roy freakin Jones. Stop acting like this is some sideshow guy trying to fight. While Jones doesn't have MMA skills, I can guarantee you if he trained for MMA early in his life that he would have been pretty damn good at MMA.

Also Nick Diaz wants a boxing match with Roy Jones. If Jones really wants in a MMA ring then Strikeforce is more than willing to bring him in to fight Diaz with MMA rules.
I think Jones wants Silva for another payday and the attention it would get over a fight with Diaz.

I've always been a huge Roy Jones Jr.fan, but I think this is pretty stupid. It might not have been too bad 15 years ago, but heck, he's 40 now!

I am not really saying it should happen now either, but the excuses White made were pathetic as usual.
He has so many excuses loaded and ready to fire. Always has excuses for why they can't get Fedor under contract. Excuses for Randy leaving UFC. So on and so on...
Always speaks his mind but never the truth when it comes to things fans would want but he doesn't.
Even if Tito was losing fights of late in UFC, he still had a following but White just said we are no longer in the Tito Ortiz business. Why didn't he just say I hate the guy and I am done with him.
