1st round at 5 dimes:

Herron +141 over Coceres/Norman

odds seem way off here plus last 4 tourneys Herron has played his best round has been the first.

totally agree this is also coceres's first event.. he wd'd last week for some reason. At worst the odds should be +110

Round 1 plays (1pt):

Parker McLachlin to beat Corey Pavin -115 @ Five Dimes
McLachlin has been very consistent this year with finishes of 10th, 29th and 14th and finished 18th on this course last year; Pavin has been consistently poor apart from the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and is making his course debut his week

Chris Riley to beat Jon Mills -115 @ Five Dimes
Riley also finished in the top-20 last year whereas his opponent is making his debut, but the extra angle is the Hilton Head factor: a lot of comparisons have been drawn between this course and Hilton Head and so Riley's good performance last year was no surprise - he has missed the cut only once there and finished 3rd in 2003

Daisuke Maruyama to beat Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano -120 @ Five Dimes
GFC simply doesn't travel well, or at least the U.S. - in four starts in this country he has three missed cuts and in the fourth, he finished 2nd-last in a no-cut WGC event

Esteban Toledo to beat John Daly -140 @ Five Dimes
Home player with motivation against a player famous for a lack of it when things go wrong. Daly ranks 207th in 1st round scoring average over the past 12 months and this is not a course that should suit

Not to be a smart ass.. or a geography teacher.. but I don't think this tourney is in the states, that being said we have 3 of the same 4 plays.. so i hope you have a good day :142smilie

Dogs I know your a stats guy.. it seems like cbssportsline.com has stats after each round for each tourney. I remember that pgatour.com did it for the fedex cup events last year and it is really helpful when capping in tourney bets. Like a not so famous person once said... theres a reason its a scorecard and not a postcard, ( its hard to tell how someone played just looking at their scores)

This is the same guy who shot me an email telling me..
?Love Gay over Kanada, but that's probably not the one you're talking about? ( this is after i asked him what line stood out)
?Gay is a ball-striker and great putter. Ready to win somewhere.? (This is when i questioned his pick)
?Nah, trust me on Gay.? ( This is when i double questioned it..)
I was leaning Craig on that one..it's only through 14 holes but its looking pretty strong

:wtf:

There goes your ego again. Read what I wrote ... "FDC doesn't travel well" (relevant for this event) and the best example of him not travelling well is to the U.S. (more relevant than travelling to play on the Asian PGA Tour), for which I gave an example. I never said that this event is being played in the U.S., though I can see how you can make that leap. Hardly worthly of a patronising insult on my intelligence

Not sure how you call that egotistical..
Just pointing out that this event isn't in the states.. I'm sure you realized that, just don't see how somone playing poorly in the states has anything to do with his record in Mexico. I guess it all depends on how you define 'travel'.

Round 2 plays (1pt):

Dean Wilson to beat Jose Coceres +135 @ Five Dimes
I don't understand this line. Coceres may have finished 2nd here last year, but they both 67 yesterday, Coceres has played only one previous event since October and the difference in ability between these two is shown by their head-to-head record for the 2nd round: Wilson leads 7-0 over the last 9 months

Skip Kendall to beat Pablo Martin -120 @ Five Dimes
Kendall finished in the top-10 here last year, so I'm more confident that he will improve today and make the cut than Martin who has played three events this year, all on the European Tour, missed the cut every time and shot over-par in every round. In fact, the last time that he did not shoot an over-par round was back in October

Thanks- but not what I was looking for--hate sites where you can't put names in alphabetical order--drives me nuts hunting.
Tour-tips has most excellent selection after rds complete--what made Golf Channels unique last year is they were updated as each hole was played live--could have complete data before they dropped props that evening for next day--but no more props so no big deal.

3rd rd @ 5D

Sport / Period: PGA Golf / Game
Line:
Esteban Toledo (3rd Rnd) 2/23/2008 10:43:01 AM - (EST)
-135
Opponent: John Daly (3rd Rnd)

totally in agreement with Stan's 1st rd scenerio on same match-
in addition Toledo's best rd was 3rd rd last year on Nationwide (ranked 11th) 3rd rd was JD's worse.
Hate to bite off that much juice on an indiv rd--but factoring in the wd factor/mental state of John -is hard not to take a look.
