There is a Sportsbook contest I just saw that might be the coolest I have seen.

- Contest started March 1st 2008

- Winner of Contest receives $115,779 US dollars

- All you have to do is place one sports bet a day (min. bet 50 cents)

- Once you miss a day you are out of the contest

- Last customer standing wins the money

So as I said the contest began March 1st 2008, well there are still 60 customers left standing (4 female and 56 male). Yep, you read that right 60 customers have placed one sports bet EVERY SINGLE DAY since March 1st 2008:scared

That's nuts:scared

You don't have to win the bet, you just have to place 1 bet (50 cents min). As long as you place 1 bet a day you stay alive.

You could lose for 1 year straight and it doesn't matter, just have to place the sports bet every single day, that is it.

I just find it amazing that there have been 60 customers that have placed a bet EVERY DAY since March 1st 2008:com:

If the identities of the remaining contestants was publicly available, this would be an interesting twist on game theory or the prisoners dilemma. Could/would they cooperate to let one person win the contest and split the winnings?

It makes you think if that many people have lasted this long, will this go on indefinitely? Pretty shrewd on the books part- just goes to prove they always have the upper hand.

Off topic, anyone watch that show Alone? I was surprised so many people tapped out so early- those conditions up in BC must have been brutal.

Or you could kidnap the remaining 59 contestants for one day, and then collect your winnings.

This will end badly, meaning - in about 40 years there will be a news story about how there's still 12 remaining contestants in their late 90's.

Yep. And family members will talk about how the contest consumed their lives and even if they won now - it would only amount to about 2k per year they participated - a drop in the bucket compared to their lost wagers and time and productivity.

Update.....

Still 60 customers left.

Eventually someone will die, can't stay at 60 forever.
