It gained credibility about 15 years ago, but thanks for your input.

The sport of boxing has been dead for years, hence why this fight happened.

Boxing won't even exist 50 years from now.

"Boxing originated when a person first lifted a fist against another in play. Different eras of the sport have been distinguished by the use or nonuse of fist coverings. The ancient Greeks believed fist fighting was one of the games played by the gods on Olympus; thus it became part of the Olympic Games in about 688 BC."

been around since 688 BC but apparently won't make it another 50 years?

OK.

The sport of PRO boxing will be dead, not boxing in general, still plenty of opportunities to box one another's head off 50 years from now, just not a sport you'd go see at an arena or stadium because it won't exist. Pro boxing has been slowly dying for years, just a matter of time before it dies for good.

Fighting will always exist in our society, it will never die.

This fight would never happen if Pro Boxing was doing well.

also, this fight is almost as gay as MMA is

Can't get any more gay then NFL Football and that sports is mighty popular in North America. Just look at the ass grabbing that goes on on a football field, wew baby:scared

Lots of buttox tapping and those QB's cradle the testicles when not in shot-gun.

Anyone who bets on this "fight" needs their head checked. This is the perfect setup for Vegas. All the MMA fanboys are rushing to back their boy in hopes their "sport" gains some credibility. Then you have the smart money who knows this is a non boxer getting in the ring with an unbeaten world champion and they can't resist the "free money".

This shouldn't be a fight BUT, what ending makes the most money? You aren't betting on a fight here, you are betting on which script plays out. Might as well be betting on Wrestlemania.

How much money does Mayweather want to make? How much does Dana White have? What's the value of a rematch next year?

My guess is McGreggor gets DQ's for an "accidental" elbow on a missed punch follow through that cuts Mayweather. The MMA fans get to yap about how Mayweather wouldn't make it in the cage and lobby for the next "fight" to be MMA style, which won't happen. Mayweather V McGreggor II sets more records for earnings and hopefully it ends there.

Nice write up.
