Outright Plays:

Very tempted to back Tiger Woods as gut feeling is that he will win this event again. I can't justify taking the short odds though and will go for some better value.

Phil Mickelson each way 16-1
Kenny Perry each way 66-1
Brad Faxon each way 80-1
Steve Flesch each way 100-1

Flesch +115 ov Weir (infinity) 2 units

Going against Weir's current form plus using Olympic's matchup line as a guide, Flesch is -120 over Weir there and I believe their line would be considered sharper.

Ist Round matchups 1 unit
Appleby -120 over Frazar
Leonard -125 over Weir

both matchups at Infinity

Best players last five years: Tiger and Vijay, 3 top 10s in L5 years, -46 and -32 to par respectively

http://golfonline.comfluent.net/cgi.pan$advtrn&Memorial_Tournament&best5&pga?golfstats

I still think Vijay offers value at 4-1 to Place (top 4 with Tiger) at Oly, especially with Tiger's dismal finish in day #1 and Vijay with a good finish today.

I'm also counting on a little rain over the weekend to slow down the greens. FWIW it always rains at The Memorial.

I'll soon be home and watching a VCR taping of a double bogey on the 18th hole by a guy named Woods that earned me an unexpected reurn of my stake and $6.00 to boot in a Thursday 3 Ball. But first I'll let that 1* ride on a Friday 3 Ball @ Bet365:

Campbell(2/1) over Montgomerie/Scott
In nasty weather at venerable Wentworth, Campbell's game and experience would seem a decent fit between Scott's principal powers and Montgomerie's answer to such a scintillating effort. But seeking a further dividend from Tiger also seems foolhardy.

superbook,
It's funny that Vijay only had 25 putts but was working on his putting alignment after the round, the guys such a grinder, I also eyed that place for him.

sports student, its interesting that your 3 Infinity m/us also stood out to me. Allworld and Infinity have been putting some interesting stuff up lately.

DTB I made some money folowing your first rounders last week, based on the starting times. Infinity had first round matchups yesterday for the first time ever, I think, and their matchups were unique in the sense that they were not any of the same matchups that were listed for the whole tournament. I have a question for you and anybody else that reads this. I do not bet that much golf right now but play the major american sports and a lot of other "minor" sports such as arena football, WNBA, NFL Europe, etc. so I like to use places that have good lines on American sports, and since I don't want to have 25 different active accounts- my question is what "american" sportsbooks offer round by round betting on golf besides 5 dimes and Infinity? Thanks for any help

S.S. 2 books I would look @ for rd by rd matches are bet 365usa it top notch with many golf options, one of my favs another is $plays which is semi clone to 5dimes but different oddsmaker that throws up some doozy' on occasion. They have been my "luckiest' book ever. Warning I have been slow paid there occasionally so would not keep large sum there.

1st rd results
Beckman -105 vs Lehman loss by 4
Howell -115 vs Daly win by 11.

2nd rd plays
Mick -115 over Leonard @ WSEX
Leonard +100 over Garcia @ 5Dimes
To lose both garcia will have to beat both Mich and Leonard

Wasn't going to play any today as weather is calm/then windy/then rain.Thats about as tough to gage as there is.Will try little ploy above especially to hedge previous Garcia/Duval match as if either falters today they are history.Garcia back to jackin club off and I truly expect club head to fly off at anytime.:)
HATE to see the rain as dry conditions were making it hard on long hitters to keep ball in fairway and there looked to be some good opps coming, but once fairway soften advantage will go back to the big boys.

I am liking this Beckman kid the more I see him as he does not quit. 4 over after 13 yesterday and fights back to even.

Mr C His t time is 12:20 but he is gone under pga.com however I looked at CNN and he has not been dropped to WD status yet hoever I believe he is gone but it is not official yet.

And while I am on subject of sites if you all are not using Stans site http://www.tour-tips.com for live scores your wasting LOTS of time. Scores for all yours at one stop,no pop-ups, no navigating ect. I am sure it cuts half hour a week for me on score checking alone;)

Mid-point update:

Lehman/Calcavecchia WON by 10
Perry/Calcavecchia WON by 9
Perry/Kelly All Square

Singh 3rd
Leonard 1st
Perry 26th

Very pleasing situation as the weekend approaches. Calc struggled as expected and missed the cut and a very favorable situation in the outright, particularly as Leonard and Singh have 10- and 8-shot leads over Tiger respectively. DiMarco didn't tee off, but a good week for the other selections, so far.

For the remainder of the tournament:

Singh +145 vs Leonard (Olympic)

I like Singh who has consistently played this Memorial course under Par vs Leonard who has to play tomorrow with the pressure of being the Second Round leader.

Plus Singh continues to putt well -- 26 putts today; his average of 25.5 putts/round for the two rounds ranks him #1 for the tournament.

I checked out the live scoring on Tour-tips (Great site btw Stan, use it alot ;)), but unless I'm missing something it just took me to the PGA scoring site

Anyway, hope everyone's in the $$ for the weekend :p

3-0 in settled matches. Much alive in outrights, matchups and parlays. Hoping for the best and fearing the worst.

3rd round matchups for 1* @ 5dimes:

Sticking with the U.S. tour, I'll try several:

Tway(-115) over Sluman
Appleby(-120) over Lehman
Singh(+100) over Mickelson

I'll have a candle burning for Jean Van de Velde.
