taking a stab with watney -120 over mahan..

that was a horrendous front 9.. just brutal. could have easily finished the day at even.. missed a lot of putts over all, should hopefully get back into decent contention with a decent round tom.

Round 2 play (4pts):

Fredrik Jacobson to beat Rickie Fowler -105 @ Bet365
Opposing the 1st round leader for two reasons: (i) he has never held the lead after 18 holes on Tour ... he has only done so on two occasions after 36 holes last year, but on both occasions he failed to hold onto the lead after the next round; and (ii) he played relatively poorly from tee-to-green - he ranked 33rd in greens in regulation - in comparison to Jacobson who lies in 9th place and leads the event so far in greens in regulation. For his part, Jacobson has already finished in the top-5 on this course (2007) and is in the better form having finished 2nd (The Players Championship) and 10th (Texas Open) within the last month.

[unofficial rd2 system plays: Sutherland tb Fowler +120; Johnson Z tb McIlroy +105; Johnson Z tb Van Pelt +110; Els tb McIlroy -110]

Thanks for the winners. Went 3-0 thanks to you. How'd you know to fade Watney? Just because of his terrible front 9 yesterday?

Round 3 play (2pts):

Tom Petrovic to beat Rickie Fowler +105 @ Unibet
Continuing to oppose Fowler even though he was very impressive yesterday. Not playing in the morning groups, but last out with the likes Mickelson, Stricker, Furyk, Cink and Day immediately ahead of him should add to the pressure, as will the projected wet weather and possible delays which have forced the tee-times forward. For his part, Petrovic has a good record from this position (he currently lies 3rd): he was 5th after two rounds of the 2010 Texas Open and shot 71 in round 3; in 2009 he was 3rd after two rounds of the John Deere Classic and then shot 66 to take the lead; in 2008, he started the weekend in the top-5 on two occasions and then shot 68 both times; in 2007, he was 4th after two rounds of the Wyndham Championship and then shot 68; and so on. No matter how impressive Fowler was yesterday, I'd back a player at plus odds against him when he has a three-shot lead and has yet to win on Tour.

Excellant.

Glad I could help. I seem to do much better when I can post early and am not rushing under the deadlines but don't always have that luxury. No excuse for those times I post under the time constraints but I clearly don't do as well for some reason. I'll take 8-2 (4-0 top plays) anyday but it usually doesn't work out as well. One of the loses was a small throw in at + 160 odds that only lost by one so very happy with the results.

I usually target a half dozen players to play on and a half dozen to fade before each tourney for a variety of reason and Watney made my fade list.
Then based on his results the day before as you mentioned helped me target him in all three matches. Plus, in my mind, I seemed to be getting great value going against him.

I never could have predicted that collapse though. He probably never had a plus ten in one round. Not only helped in those matches but I was down and in both my 72 hole matches against him and won those by nine and eleven on the cut.

I can't feel too bad for Nick though. His wife, Hiedi, is gorgeous and does the post game interviews for the Boston Red Sox. Not a bad prize to go home to.

matchups?

matchups?

Why are most books showing no third round matchups available when many golfers haven't teed off yet? Only finding one book with matches up at this point.

Because the tee-times had been brought forward to much earlier in the day to try and avoid the bad weather. As it happens, they didn't avoid it and so there was a four-hour rain delay. Most books don't re-open their lines once the tee-times have been changed.

Thought that was it. Thanks for the confirmation.
