Guys, any thoughts on a total of 9??

Will Wood and Leiter get yanked after a 110 pitch count in the 6th inning?? 9 seems high, and yes I know the wind is blowing out at 10-15+ mph.

Anyone with any ideas???

Hey Tom, Funny forward you sent yesterday!:D Anyway, about the game today, I like the UNDER 4.5 for the first 4 innnings, as I dont have any faith in the bullpens to keep it low scoring for the entire game........:)

Woody didn't have his good stuff last outing, but got away with 1ER because of the anemic Cinci offense. His fastball was all over the place, and he got bailed out by his curveballs and Cinci swinging out of the strike zone. Leiter already blew up last game, maybe Woody will this game, too, from the high pitch count. Plus like longhorn says, both bullpens suck. I went the greedy way and took the Mets:D

Good luck!

Good low career ERA's against each others team!

METS PROBABLE STARTER: Al Leiter (14-8, 4.26 ERA). He is 6-3 with a 2.19 ERA in 12 career starts against the Cubs.

CUBS PROBABLE STARTER: Kerry Wood (12-11, 3.46 ERA). The hard-throwing right-hander has made six career starts against the Mets, going 3-1 with a 2.02 ERA.

TJ,

Every stat I see points to a "Cubs win, Cubs win."

From road team's woes with Cederstrom behind the plate to Wood v. Leiter recent numbers, to home/road records and records in game 3 of series.

I might not lay -190 on it, but parlayed with Jays v. Tigers for even money in a parlay, I'm taking the Cubs.

But, I seem to be the only one:shrug:

Good Luck whomever you take,

~Patel

A little info...

Leiter has won all three starts with this HP ump. Ump's last 8 game BHP with Mets have gone over 6-1-1. His last game calling the Cubs was a 1-0 Kerry Wood victory over Brad Penny and the Marlins.

Still not sure which way to go on this one though. Might have to try the over if the wind keeps blowing out. You can always count on the Cubs bullpen for a couple runs.

I am going with the over. It seems as if both of these pitchers are more capable of giving up runs rather than shutting a team down. Smaller ballpark and a little breeze blowing out equals over.

screw the total----play the cubs----easy winner---playing motivated ball with Wood on hill, Wood had great stuff last time out, except for fastball was running up and in on batters, little out of control, he was pumped up. But he will settle down today and pitch a gem, Cubs bats will eventually get to leiter around 6 or 7 th inning

Alright, you made me go back and look at it again. The thing that really bugs me about this total is the line. I've made a lot of money in the past playing the wind at Wrigley. with the wind blowing out to center this line should have opened at 10 or more so 9 looks very odd. Then I look at how the pitchers have done with Cedarstrom and find that they both do very well. So I breeze around the net figuring that everyone will be on the over but apparently not as many people are as aware of the wind at Wrigley as I thought. They are all going under because of the pitchers. However, Wood (even tho he has won) has been tagged pretty good with Cedarstrom behind the plate and Cederstrom has gone under only twice in his last 10. The last time the wind was blowing out with him at Wrigley, the score was 11-6. I believe the low line is encougaging more people to go under and that's what Vegas wants. Good luck
