Anyways, as I see it, they HAVE to go the charity route. If they charge normal prices nobody will go. And the Chargers will have to give refunds anyways, so they are going to lose the gate on this no matter what happens. They do the charity, it looks good on the league (not to mention it actually will help people). It's the right thing to do. The other 30 teams and the league can chip in a bit to help make up for the lost $$ for San Diego and Miami at the gate.

What I don't understand is why the NFL dragged their asses on this. It's not like the fires started today. They should not have waited til barely 24 hours before the game to pull the plug. Just plain dumb.

Its amazing, cal has gotta be the most populated and expensive state to live in, yet it has earthquakes, and I know this is a freak thing, but its a tragedy, its amazing how it's the most populated place, the taxes are horrible, smog, cost of living, but I guess the weathers great and all, hell I dont love the east coast either Im ready to go down south to a warmer spot, but these fires are horrible, its a real tragedy what happened and best wishes and recovery to all the victims my hearts are with them

"Because of wildfires in the San Diego area, the NFL has moved the Monday night Chargers vs Dolphins game to Sun Devil Stadium in Arizona.
Las Vegas rules provide that, because of the site change, all wagers for the game at San Diego will be cancelled. Wagering for the game in Arizona will be offered as a new event."

I haven't seen any of the fires in person but the soot is everywhere in the L.A. area. Driving out to Corona, which is east and south of L.A., it was pretty unforgettable with a big orange/red sky with soot falling like a light snowfall from it. Keep in mind that area is like 20 miles from the fires in Rancho Cucomunga, not right near the fires like Simi Valley is.

It was announced here on the radio that people are not allowed to line-up at the ticket window prior to 4pm PCT. Tickets will be handed out on a first come first serve basis. Admission is free and strongly urge that people donate cash to the wildfires. It will be a sell out with the students and all. If everyone gave at least $10 it would bank $740,000 for the wildfires. Hopefully people will donate more. I will be attending and am willing to give whatever it would cost for a normal ticket as it is going to a great cause. Thought you would all want to know.

yes most of these fires were arson. the big one in sd was caused by a stranded hiker who started a signal fire that has now killed 10 people

I think the stadium will be about 45,000 which would be amazing for one day notice. Tempe is a good football town if there was a product worth watching on the field. Fans out there hate the cards owner bill bidwill and the cardinals francchise and dont support them... they will show tommorow in spite

If it is seriously free with just a good-will donation, the place should get a huge turnout. If an NFL game got moved to Texas Stadium or TCU or SMU and it was free, I would go for sure. I just hope that everyone who goes will at least throw in 10 bucks.

I was watching CNN Headline News a day or two ago, and they showed a guy out in his backyard near LA with a hose trying to fight off the fires from his property. It seemed so futile, but yet so similar to what a lot of us would want to do if our home was threatened in such a way. That image (by helicopter it looked like) really made it seem very real to me.
