Know exactly how you feel...been carrying the same kind of responsibility since I was 17...just turned 60...I've just about had enough....no more loans, co-signing, etc..... its time for someone else to carry the load...ready to kick back & see the country with my wife

Same Here. Father 90 with dementia, mother 89. Both living with us. Daughter having her second child. Her husband has a pretty good job but they can't pay the bills. It all seems to fall on us.

I pay for Moms groceries, pharmacy, cable and electric. She sends money to my niece :lol:
My daughters have a child and if I am not Johnny on the spot with helping financially, I do not see my grand kids for months at a time! It is like I am being held hostage :facepalm:
I also have 529 accounts set up for my grand children's college fund, so my kids are not totally burdened and the grand children will have a fighting chance!
I did get long term care for my wife and I as we can not see anyone taking care of us when the time comes............God forbid.

With the womens movement of the 70's, I think men have been tossed aside (especially white males). We seem to have lost our roles in this society. I am also tired of white males being blamed for all of societies ills. Not anti-liberation but, just sayin, that men have been taking the blame for most of the problems today as if we created all of them. Its tough being a guy today.
