Dawg.....that's totally fine....I was just showing how I do it....that's all...

As for GW...I tried to explain the "decimal/european odds" to him....I gave up after two hours:mj07:

He tried though....I give him credit:142smilie

i was asked what i got on my i.q. test.....my answer was,"drool"...

Just nevermind...I knew as soon as I answered gmroz question I'd get a question from you.....:mj07:

Just pretend I didn't post...I'm not going to explain european odds/decimal odds to you now dawgball....just pretend I never typed anything......

But if you absolutely ant to know....well here:

-160 in vegas format works out to $1.63 in decimal format.

260 divided by 160 = $1.63

+200 works out to $3.00 in decimal format

for a fav (minus) you add 100 and divide by the number..so -160 turns into 260 then divide 260 by 160. For a dog (plus) you just add 100. +200, add 100 = $3.00

-110 (no fav) would equal $1.91 in decimal format (210 divided by 110).

Decimal format is used everywhere in the word, except in the USA. Actually most books have that option (5 dimes does, just click on the "EU format). Actually on ttp://www.bestfightodds.com you can just click on "decimal" and the odds will show in decimal format.

But hey....as I said...just do it your way...I could care less:)

Just keep that bookmark and you can type in the odds in decimal format and it converts not only into Vegas format but Fractional/UK Odds and Implied Probability:scared

Now, what would GW do with Fractional odds:scared :mj07:

Also....kind of neat that -110 ($1.91) actually works out to 52.36% probability...interesting.

And FWIW.....$1.63 is actually -158.73, not -160 :142smilie

And sometimes I post my plays in both formats, just to make GW happy:)

Great idea.. please keep in mind all of rawli's plays are subject to change before the event starts.

rawli cancels, hedges, adds to plays up until lines close. He is sure to confuse the shit out of many people on this site with his flip-flopping.

I started capping MMA mid-last year... fell to somewhere around -13 Units after a big loss on The Iceman, only to claw my way back to within 2 Units. It takes a while to get used to MMA betting coming from strictly side betting. This year money WILL be made. :SIB

Thanks for the explanation.

But you have to admit, the American style of odds is pretty straight-forward. I'll give you the Metric system; you give me American odds. Deal?

The one thing I wish everyone would do is put ALL their plays in a new thread and call it UFC XX OFFICIAL PLAYS THREAD.

AND NOBODY POST COMMENTS ON OTHER PEOPLE IN THAT THREAD SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT EVERYONE IS PLAYING.
If you want to do a write up in your own post about your plays then that is ok.
If you want to come in and comment on picks after the fights have started then that is ok.

I hate posting picks in the threads we use to talk about the event in because if I want to see what exactly Bucs,Sponge,Kick, dawg, garden, and rawli are thinking as well then I have to comb through 5+ pages and then I forget what each persons thoughts were.
WE NEED A PICKS ONLY THREAD AND START IT A DAY OR TWO BEFORE THE EVENT so it doesn't get out of control. The longer the thread is up the more tempted people are to post random comments in it.

maybe have an official "picks" thread....and an official"bullshit" thread for snarky commentary,in fight remarks, cheerleading, ball busting and other non-essential,but enjoyable nonsense....

kegray....i like it...but it`s up to the group as a whole....

/that`s really using the gourd,partner.....:toast:
