With 80% of the public on the Falcon's here are some reasons to play the Jets:

Play On - Underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points (NY JETS) - a horrible offensive team (<=14 PPG) against an average defensive team (18-23 PPG), after scoring 17 points or less in 3 straight games.
(48-15 since 1983.) (76.2%, +31.5 units. Rating = 4*)

Play On - Underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points (NY JETS) - terrible offensive team - scoring 14 or less points/game, after scoring 17 points or less in 3 straight games.
(96-54 since 1983.) (64%, +36.6 units. Rating = 2*)

Play On - Any team (NY JETS) - a horrible offensive team (<=14 PPG) against an average defensive team (18-23 PPG), after scoring 17 points or less in 2 straight games.
(45-19 over the last 10 seasons.) (70.3%, +24.1 units. Rating = 2*)

Play On - Road underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points (NY JETS) - off a road loss, a bad team, winning 25% to 40% of their games on the season.
(72-36 since 1983.) (66.7%, +32.4 units. Rating = 2*)

Play Against - Home favorites (ATLANTA) - after a win by 6 or less points against opponent after scoring 17 points or less in 3 straight games.
(44-17 since 1983.) (72.1%, +25.3 units. Rating = 2*)

Play On - Underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points (NY JETS) - a horrible offensive team (<=14 PPG) against an average defensive team (18-23 PPG), after scoring 17 points or less in 2 straight games.
(57-23 since 1983.) (71.2%, +31.7 units. Rating = 3*)

Play Against - Favorites of 3.5 to 10 points (ATLANTA) - after a win by 3 or less points.
(53-25 over the last 5 seasons.) (67.9%, +25.5 units. Rating = 2*)

Mackey,

Appreciate the info but I think Atlanta clobbers the Jets.

All trends get broken eventually.

Good luck.

Atlanta has no DJ Duckeet

I heard that Patrick Kearny may not play.

Rossum playing cornerback is scary.

Vick may pull a hammy in the first qtr

New York is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games.
New York is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 road games.
Atlanta is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 home games

The Falcons are 10-2 in their last 12 games at the Georgia Dome, while the Jets are 1-4 both straight-up and against the spread in their last five games on the road.

TAKE THE DOG...

TAKE THE DOG...

Been waiting for this game all week!

The Jets will be my LARGEST play off this NFL football weekend at +7.5 :)

Was thinking about a small ML wager as well.

In Transit HQ
It'll be close in the first half, but in the second half, Virginia Tech ... er ... Atlanta by a landslide (14 or more).

With 78% of the public on the Falcons, I guess THE BOOKS and MULLY will be the BIG losers tonight. I hope the BOOKS have enough money to pay ALL THE WINNERS!!!

I'd be careful making assumptions here

I'd be careful making assumptions here

A very real possibilty is that both the public and the sharps are on the Falcons tonite. This is the books' biggest nightmare, according to Bob Scucci of the Stardust. The way the line is rising could indicate that this may be the case. Remember, lots of money does not just mean public money.

Books' worst nightmare scenario: not only do they not get enough money on the Jets, but in raising the line they also get middled. That could create a losing night bigtime. It happens.

Good luck whatever you decide tonight! :) :) :)

Do I go with John Q Public or the BOOKS and Mully?

Who wins more games?

Who Knows More?

I have to think about this for a few hours, be back latter.
