Lost the preseason GOY last night by a single point. . . oh well. . . guess it happens to the best (not really, but trying to make myself feel better).

Think we'll get back on track with this one tonight:

Broncos 1st half laying 1.5 from Carib. Have to lay a lot of juice at 140 and am not sure why Carib hasn't moved the first half line up to 2 or 2.5, but I'll bite.

Closing note:

Has anybody else realized that first half plays are actually a lot easier (more profitable) than the entire game? It seems to me that most teams could really care less whether they actually win the game in the 4th quarter. Guess it makes sense given its preseason, but most cappers in here bet the entire game instead of the first half. Just something to think about. . . especially since the first stringers play the majority of their time in the first half and are usually cheerleaders/benchwarmers in the second half.

Can somebody tell me why Carib has continued to post their first half line as Denver laying 1.5 while the line for the game is 5.5? Are they trying to sucker us (I already have played the first half) into taking this line because we feel we are getting value? I know the juice is at 140 for the first half line, but still a good value if you think about it. Perhaps they have missed the line change and not corrected the first half line? Hopefully that's the case because I have a nice sized wager on this one.

Nickelback, I think that the lines reflect the amount of playing time the starters will be getting for both teams. San Fran starters will be playing no further than the first half if not the first quarter thus the books think they will at least keep it close in the first half Den -1.5. Then when the starters do not play at all in the second half they feel that Denver has a much bigger advantage. Den -5.5 Just my take. Hope it helps

Nickelback- Carib does that more than any other book that I know of. They do not like to move off their first half numbers, even if the line for the entire game has jumped a couple of points. Instead they juice the first half line to hell...NBA you would often see something like..

Kings -5.5 for the first half
Kings -11 for the game

Once a move was made on the -11, moving the line to -13, Carib would move the first half line to -5.5 (-175) instead of going to 6 or 6.5.

Hoops,

Thanks for the info bud. . . I've been with Carib for a while since February and never caught on to that fact.

Good luck if you play the game.
