To be honest I have been on both sides but I have also been scared away from more games than I care to mention because of them and I would have won quite a few. All I am saying is I capped the game and I see no reason to not take Memphis and I think it is a mistake to bet opposite just because of the line movement. I have also bet with the line move and been burnt. I bet the same amount on every game so if I lose it will not kill me that is one mistake I think allot of people make betting more on one game than another but that is only my opinon!

This has turned into a great thread IMO. . .

Curious if others feel that this board alone is a good indicator of public representation. Would like to hear from everyone who has an opinion on this.

BobbyIrish,

Hey...I am leaving work...but, you opened a new can of worms that maybe we can discuss sometime.....(Flat Betting)

An old timer once told me when I started this hobby..."if you flat bet...you are destined to be flattened" Lets talk sometime.

Good Luck!

I personally don't judge who I play on line movement. In fact, line movement can actually make me lay off a game, instead of playing it. For instance, if I see UAB +7, and I wait for it to go higher, but suddenly it drops to +5, instead of picking UAB on liine movement, I'd most likely not pick them now because the line has lost value. For me though, I usually don't wait for line movement, I just pick the games as soon as it comes out, unless it's something like +7.5, then I may wait for it to go to either +8 or +7 before I pick it. However, if it comes out a solid 7, I'd normally would just have picked it right there and then before the public can change it.

PS:
Moneyline isn't that bad of a play, I can see UAB beating Memphis. UAB has been in wars at home, but they don't have a great record because often they come up on the short end of those close games. However, if one or two things went differently in those games, it could have easily gone the other way.

Game is a pass for me, I'm going to watch the game for pure entertainment......wait, did I say "Pure entertainment"??? Maybe my addiction is subsiding!!

Questions for Robert

What percentage of your bankroll do you bet per game? I have been told that 2.5% is considered "safe"

Do you limit the number of games you bet on a given day?

Thanks!

I bet 2% of my bankroll and I try to bet only 1-3 games a day there are times that I will play more but that is very rare. That usually surfaces when the Football and Baasketball seasons collide or when Baskets and Bases are running together,
