Wox11 you know the funny part? Info i have says that the 26M is an estimate WITHOUT the midnight showing sell out so in reality, we are closer to the 30M than the 26M!!!

The estimated tally from "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" marks the second-biggest Wednesday opening ever, behind the $28.5 million first-day gross of "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace" in May of 1999, box office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations Inc. said on Thursday.
The $26 million figure, which distributor New Line Cinema said does not include ticket sales from midnight screenings, also is believed to be the biggest take ever for a single day in December, Exhibitor Relations said.
