GL 1837,

Hey hope u don't mind but I wanna give a try at this.

Cap a lot of sports and wanna give this a try!!

So here goes!!

Rugrats 3 Over 17.5 +120
11/17/2000 2 $22,718,184
11/20/1998 1 $27,321,470 ? 2,782 $9,821 $27,321,470

Rugrats Go Wild 2,850 Paramount

Ok I will try to cap anything once so wish me luck here. Been following alot of these movie openings and seems to me these kiddie shows always do well. Adults like buying tix to them, nemo last week made me feel pretty positive on it.

Rugrats movie drops off 17 percent from 1st movie to 2nd, so if next movie drops another 17 percent that would put total at $18.8 million, I like it because it is playing at more theaters than 2nd opening 2782 verus today at 2850 and it is an established kids show which is always good.

I may not know what the hell I am doing, but giving it a shot as in any other sport!!

4 UNITS OVER 17.5 MILLION!!! +120 WSEX!!!

Thanks Guys in Taking the Time in Reading This and thanks 1837!! AND GL!!

Countingguy - Don't agree with you on Rugrats going over 17.5 M
Think this one will absolute go UNDER. As you point out a drop of 17 % from the first movie to the second, 17.5M would mean a drop of 23 %. It would of been very strange if the drop off wouldn't be bigger to this film. Also it will have to battle Finding Nemo, who could beat Matrix for the topgrossing movie this summer.

Rugrats Under 17.5M -150 (5 units)

Hollywood Homicide Over 17.5M -110 (3 units) - Ford, Hartnett seems like a good movie

Dumb and Dumberer Under 15M -115 (3 units) - no carrey and Daniels this time, seems like an awful movie

GL with your bets :)

I saw an advance screening of Hollywood Homicide about 3 months ago and have to say that this is absolutely one of the worst films I have ever seen. I usually love cop/action films, but this one brings out every bad cliche and piles on healthy doses of bad acting. Unless they have drastically reworked it since then (with a whole new script), I think this may be one of the biggest bombs of the year.

1837, I know you are usually dead on with your predictions -- and you may well hit that mark simply because Harrison Ford is attached and they have been marketing the hell out of it, but spare yourself the agony of sitting through 2 hours of this dreck. Sorry that my warning is after the fact...I just saw your post.

Best of luck.

no problem my friend, anyhow the last movie i saw was Lord of the Rings 2 so as you can see, i only go once or twice a year in a theater to see a movie!:D With the little boy at home i much prefer watching them when they're available on dvd!:D Don't worry, i won,t see any movies this weekend!:p

Yes, they have lines up for each new movie, each weekend. They're usually one of the first books to put up lines early in the week, which I give them props for. Plus, they're the only book to have lines for movies even AFTER the other books close their lines on Friday morning. They still have their lines up for Hollywood Homicide, but not D & D. Looks like D&D closed at 5-1 odds for under 14.9 million. That is still much, much better than the odds WSEX was offering for under 15 million, as long as it doesn't fall between the two numbers.:D

Worried about dumb and dumberer

Worried about dumb and dumberer

I love the under 15 million for Dumb and Dumbererererer. But..... heres the one thing I'm a bit worried about. I think there are a lot of stupiderer people out there that think Jim Carey is in the movie. The guy playing him in the movie does bare a decent resemblence. If that does yhappen you might have a lot more fans of Dumb I coming out to see this flick. I am on the under myself, but am now 2nd guessing myself. You guys still think this movie results in a bust? I hope so.
Good luck all.

4.68 million for Dumb and Dumberer estimated for Friday. Does this put us on track to go under?

I think well get the under

I think well get the under

There are a couple things going for us. #1 word of mouth on this movie is horrible and great for us. After what i heard from people who saw it yesterday I don't think youll get as good results today. #2 Sunday being Father's day has a lower amount of showings. 5 theaters vs. 6 on Friday and Saturday. I think youll end up with around 12-14 million though, but probably not over 15, at least I hope.

Is my reasoning right on Dumber?

Is my reasoning right on Dumber?

See above. I am new to movie capping, but based on what i saw on some prediction sites,Sunday is supposed to be a slow day this week. Im still the slightest bit worried that well have dumber fever today and blow the wager. Based on Friday what do you like dumbbbbbber will finish at? Thanks.
