Guys, I see so many of you struggling and thought I’d chime in with a pep talk. We ( by we I mean you) need to take your emotions out of geopolitics. This war needs to end. It’s that simple. Time to hammer out a deal, and yes in this particular deal the aggressor will make no concessions. As I pointed out last week, this always the case nowadays. The POS Putin and Russia annexed crimea in 2014 without consequences. Scumbags in Hamas killed a thousand innocent Israelis, raping dozens at least, then kidnapped hundreds. That cease-fire was negotiated on the exchange of a handful of poorly treated ( some even raped) Israeli hostages and the corpses of two murdered Israeli babies for several hundred, if not a couple of thousand, Hamas criminals

I didn’t hear any consternation from the American left on either of those issues. In fact, most of the American left us hog, died to the Palestinians and Hamas. My favorite is the Queers for Palestine group. in the case of Russian invasion of Ukraine, a peace settlement is a big problem for the American left because Trump is involved. Trump makes y’all emotional.

At this point, the United States is going to do what it has to do to help make this deal happen. then the United States is going to keep their enemy, Russia, close even engaging in mutuality beneficial trade. We will have a stake in Ukraine rare minerals, and this will serve as protection for Ukraine from Russia. Our new pseudo alignment with Russia will not only help our leverage against China, but it will keep Russia playing nice long term. Let’s not forget that Russia has invaded sovereign territories in The face of each of the last three weak American presidents starting with W.

I now see the endgame, and I like it. Long live the USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸

We should take emotion out of it.

In reality, why do we give a shit what happens "over there?"

He took Crimea. He’s trying to take more. You think it all stops if everyone just gives up? Could you be any more delusional?
He took Crimea when we had a weak president. Now we have a strong president, but we won’t always. That’s why we’re going to pseudo align ourselves with Russia. I’ve already explained this several times.

You guys didn’t care about Crimea, you only care right now because of the whole trump thing. Myself, I want the threat of World War III subverted, and I love the idea of the pseudo alignment with Russia because our biggest enemy in my opinion is China.

China hasn't been at war for forty-five years. That one lasted two weeks.

I think they're ok just watching everyone shit on each other.

We have a very weak President. He proved that on Friday. He proved it with his getting rolled by Mexico and Canada in tariff negotiations. He's all talk, and everyone knows it.....but the cult members.

you say you don't love trump, but this is fucking hilarious. you have to be deep in the cult to consider trump anything remotely close to a strong president. he's all fucking talk. he may be the most thin-skinned man on the planet. hell, during his first administration (you know, the first time he was "the most powerful man in the world"), he literally picked a fight with a teenaged european girl because her words upset him. imagine that. a 70+ year old man getting in a twitter fight with a teenager. yup, he's a strong one alright.

ok, i lied. i'm not a mental midget, so i'm capable of reading more than one paragraph.

under your geopolitical theory of just let the aggressor keep whatever he wants, what exactly would discourage any nation state from attacking another?

can you name one single time appeasement actually worked?

and, not to nitpick, but i assume you (as usual) aren't exactly clear on all the facts. a high percentage of the palestinians in israeli jails are just kids who threw rocks at israeli soldiers and have never actually been accused of a crime. they're just locking them up because they can. no judge, no jury, just "off to prison you go."

now, i understand you see everything in black and white. so you're probably preparing a very angry response. going to call me a hamas-lover, or some other stupid shit. maybe that's why you're wrong about... well, most things. because most things are in the gray area. i can hate what israel is doing and AT THE SAME TIME hate hamas. *sigh* i can't believe all the things than need to be explained to you. i feel like i have to take two steps back for every step forward. but some basic education for you... not every palestinian is in hamas. most of those in israeli jails are palestinians, not hamas. i mean, after spending their time in israeli prison, they may very well be ready to join hamas.

well, i could go on about how little you understand about that region, but i'm sure i'm WELL over my word limit.

Cie, what's your take on this? You better take a moment to stretch first!

All part of the pseudo alignment I’ve spoken of. Foreign policy has not worked to stabilize this area, the status quo was not working. This is a new path, and this article from the left leaning( I think) Brookings Institute explains why we’re moving in this direction. This alignment will open up diplomatic channels for Trump to end this war, and this stability at borders within the former Soviet Union Could not be any more beneficial to ourselves and our European allies. In the process, Trump will hopefully gain mineral rights from Ukraine in exchange for long-term security. Of course this alignment with Russia will mean the United States will not support Ukraine acceptance in NATO. But that’s OK, as the United States will be a guarantor of peace once we have hitched our train financially to Ukraine All the while disrupting the china -Russia alliance.

I have no idea if this will work, i Welcome the change in policy, and I’m hopeful of long term stability and mutual benefits that this alignment will bring for USA , EU, Ukraine, UK, and even Russia.

Biden was a weak president. Border crossings ramped up even before he took office. They ramp down the moment that he lost the election before Trump even stepped into the White House.

Yes, barack was not feared like Trump is.

Sir, this is not my strategy. This is just how it works now in terms of how modern day aggressors are treated. I don’t know if you’re new to this, but that’s the whole point of what I’ve been saying.

Modern day aggressors are let off the hook diplomatically to avoid long wars. That is not new. What I’m saying is since that’s how it goes, settling, and ceding land today, just like they did 10 years ago, is the best path forward. The other path is to continue a war. I’m shocked that so many want to continue this war. This can go on for a decade or more. For what?

The status quo has been to let Russia keep what it is that they want, USA sanction them. Meanwhile, Europe imports energy from them and russia align themselves with China. The new path is let’s take Russia on as a “partner “ to promote long-term stability while also helping us against China. (See above Brookings article.)

At the same time, we align ourselves with Ukraine, financially, which guarantees their long-term protection from Russia

Hopefully, I was able to clear up your misconceptions that Trump is the one trying to appease Russia when the globe has been appeasing Russia forever. We’re just gonna enter into a keep your friends close and your enemies closer situation. It’s going to be mutually beneficial for litany of parties. The reality is, only the United States is position to be able to do this based on our unique geography and strong military to go along with the largest global economy.

The sky, sir, is not falling. Let’s not make this more complicated than it needs to be.

One thing that I’m curious about is why you would think I would send you an angry response when you are easily the angriest dude on here.

the moment he lost the 2020 election, border crossings started to ramp up. Strong as in the moment he won this last election two months before taking office, border crossings started to slow down. Strng as in the only potus Putin didn’t test in the last 2 decades. Trump is more feared than Biden, Obama or W.

Even this DeSantis supporter in the primary can admit that.

Other than the photo op 6 weeks ago of a half dozen planes of illegals departing, what evidence is there of the "border/illegal problem" being any better? FOX News held a 24/7 commercial during the entire Biden term telling illegals to climb aboard. Now? POOF! No more problem!

Amazing how great Trump is.

This is an oddly skewed perspective. Biden himself welcomed everyone as he spewed soft border rhetoric on campaign trail and then He sat in the oval office Inauguration Day signing executive orders loosening the border. I can’t possibly believe that you’re being serious here

And again, no one said how great, just said he is feared. You have a personal thing against DJT. Difference between us is I also don’t like him, but I don’t need to like him. I don’t need to drink a beer with him, I just need him to put us in a better position than the one we were in when he got there. And if it doesn’t work with him, then we will try it with the next guy.
