Wife and I are flying out to San Francisco thursday for a week in wine country :00hour

Have winery tours set up for friday/saturday/sunday & monday through work as we are the #1 wine retailer in the united states. Tues & Wed going back to San Fran, helicopter from golden gate to alcatraz tour. I want to drive down the coast line and take a ton of pictures. Is there anywhere that you could suggest that we "must see" in San Fran or down the coast? :0008

Almost did that 2 years ago. A day in SF, two days at the US Open at Pebble Beach and drive down to LA and come home from there. Went to Vegas instead. Dumb move.

Pebble Beach, drive along the coast and course and come out the South Gate and you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a great restaurant !

DON'T LEAVE YOUR WIFE ALONE WITH AN AMEX IN CARMEL ! :mj07:

Just across the Golden Gate heading north toward Napa, stop in Sausalito and have a drink on abar deck looking across the Bay at the city. Driving highway 1 after that up coast for an hour in a convertible is awesome too. Then cut back across toward Sonoma and Napa. Sit on the porch at Joseph Phelps, have some cab, relax, and thank me later. Eat at Bouchon, the little sister of French laundry, and 1/3 the price. If on a splurge, see if any cancellations at at French Laundry, a bucket list restaurant that will set you back a few benjamins, but you will talk about every bite for years. Kind of like a "Vodka" moment in Vegas we shared, if you know what I mean. Have fun. GET A CONVErTIBLE!! :0008

Been to that same deck with my wife. They made a hell of a Mojito. Betone, if I were you I would cut the winery tours in half and spend more time in San Fran. One of the best cities in the US in my opinion. Chinatown, Little Italy, fresh crab on the piers, etc. Two days in Napa is plenty, I think.

Id say the opposite, if you are big volume retailers, the wineries will cater to you and may throw up some picnic lunches/ cheese plates, etc. Take advantage.

Every wine tour Ive done has been a little different, accomodations, dinners, tours of the vineyards, barrel tastings, talking to the winemakers over processes.

That being said. As for SF, Id say Chinatown is a must to walk thru and spend a few hours shopping.

If you need the sports scene, the Pyramid was THE sports bar for SF, downtown in the Embarcadero (sp?) Plaza. But I was meh on it, and liked the grungy local eastern european sports bar called Kazar. They put out some damn good grub, like bangers and mash. Things change as always, but I watched the Music City Miracle there. Its a packers bar in frisco, go figure.

Thanks Guys for all the info........we were thinking the same about the winery tours, that is why we saved a couple days for san Fran. We may drop a day of wine tours and spend an extra day in San Fran, will play it by ear.

Thanks Wine guy ............I did not even think about convertible or not ? Great idea, even though my two strands on my head will be blown into obligatory
