Haha. 70? You're at your prime. Nowadays everyone is living into their 90's! 70's is the new 50. It's just a number.....

I made my first bet when I was 16. $50 on a football game. That was a lot of money back then. At 19 Bet Bases, NFL, Coll Foots and Hoops. That alone should make me about 105 years old today:mj07: I keep telling myself quit and keep whatever brain cells you have left

Same here. I was betting horses when I was 15 at the local fair circuit. I love and hate gambling. I'm much more reserved in my betting nowadays.

I bet horses too. funny story. My dad loved the horses he used to take me. I hit my first horse at 10 yrs old. He gave me 2 to bet only 1 race I could play. I said I want this one. he said he is 40-1. He told me your nuts, went bought the ticket gave it to me. It paid 84$. I said next race I want...?...He said your done. The 7th race he said give me 40$. He wouldn't let me bet another race. The horses name...?..Baldy White Legs. You could tell at 10 I didn't know anything about horses. I did go to the track a lot after I was 21 though. I still go maybe 10 times a year.

That's great. Horses are fun when you hit a few, and I'm not sure there's a better rush in gambling than seeing a big winner cross that finish line.

Seriously Its getting harder to cap any more, Maybe because I am getting older their are a lot of days I get up and say. I quit. Its a lot of work, even with everything at your finger tips. (computer). In the old days I had hand written notes. The ups and downs are a bitch. More now than ever. You have fun stories and horror stories both. My days might be coming to and soon with this stuff. I'll miss this people here and at other places I post. people you have never met and feel you know well although you never met. This was always my home here at MJ's. Great people, who have always treated me great. Maybe, because in a way, we are all the same, with one thing in common. I'm not packing it in yet but...???.I always say one day at a time. Of Course that what they say when they want you to quit something too.:mj07:

Seriously Its getting harder to cap any more, Maybe because I am getting older their are a lot of days I get up and say. I quit. Its a lot of work, even with everything at your finger tips. (computer). In the old days I had hand written notes. The ups and downs are a bitch. More now than ever. You have fun stories and horror stories both. My days might be coming to and soon with this stuff. I'll miss this people here and at other places I post. people you have never met and feel you know well although you never met. This was always my home here at MJ's. Great people, who have always treated me great. Maybe, because in a way, we are all the same, with one thing in common. I'm not packing it in yet but...???.I always say one day at a time. Of Course that what they say when they want you to quit something too.:mj07:

Thanks man. I used to cap all the time and post plays. I was a moderator at another site for a while and even started my own site for a few minutes. But we just couldn't get enough members to get it going. The site I was originally on was flush with members and posters at one time. But the owner was an asshole and now no one is posting there any longer. Except Cnotes posting trends, who is on here too. I go on incredible hot streaks and cold streaks. I lost 20 bets in a row one time. But I also could cap pretty good and had a pretty decent record. I was esp good at the Sunday night NFl football games. Man, I rarely lost those.

For whatever reason, I haven't posted plays here very often. I like the site, but it just doesn't seem as personal as the other one I was moderating at. But I've been here for a pretty long while now. Been in a political debate or two on here.

Maybe I'll get inspired to make some picks.

Times, and people, change.

This place was really solid 15-20 years ago. Lots of guys had analysis up the ass on every sport. Plenty of good debate, and great reading.

Now, almost everyone says, "Penn State tonight". No reason, no wtite-up. Nothing. It's just where we are at.

I got here on the tail end of that era. I do remember some of what you are talking about however. The site I was on had several members, but it died real quick. It seems many places lost their membership. I guess things and people change. There are just so many options on the interweb. It's hard to get people to stay on a site. We were doing capping contests and trying anything we could.
