When the SEC was looking up at the big ten and big xii, I did not whine about an uneven playing field, or the possibilty that players were being bought or anything else.
I don't really recall the SEC looking up at anyone, ever. Maybe from a perception standpoint, but not competitively.
Call it what you will but the SEC is playing by a different set of rules (literally, with regards to over signing) than other conferences.
Further, there are teams in my "group one" that are outside of the SEC. USC, Ohio State, Florida State, Oklahoma and Oregon come to mind.
Pay for play and boosters/agents run wild are certainly not new issues to college football but IMO we're in an era where it's as bad as it's been in my lifetime. Hopefully the NCAA finds some way to level the playing field. After watching the Cam Newton and OSU cases unfold and be resolved I have little hope it will, but I guess you never know.
