I haven't posted much about ND and that's ok because I've been fading them most of the year, but here's how I think this goes.

IU held their ground against Ohio State until the game was out of reach and I think they'll look like they belong tonight too, but I remember they looked great on their first series with the scripted plays without adjustment. I'm expecting them to hold their own against Notre Dame for the first quarter and then I'll be betting ND for the game after Indiana takes a lead or the first quarter ends.

I think this is the most likely outcome. I’ve seen a lot of people on other forums enthusiastically hyping IU to beat Notre Dame straight up. Some by double digits.

Personally, I don’t see that happening. But I definitely see IU winning or at least covering the 1Q.

Imo, Notre Dame is more talented by far overall and, more importantly, has a tremendous depth advantage. As that Ohio State game went on, you could see the Buckeyes begin to take over and dominate. The longer that game went, the more the buckeyes were going to keep beating the Hoosiers down.

I’m not saying ND has the same talent level as Ohio State nor depth, but they are far superior in those respects to anyone else IU played all year. Cig is a very good coach, but he’s limited with the guys he has playing for him tonight. He’s also somewhat of a politician imo. Claiming that IU didn’t struggle in any areas against the Buckeyes except the special teams miscues and dealing with the loud crowd noise and snap count had blatant BS written all over it. The Buckeyes were the substantially superior team and I believe ND will show the same superiority tonight.

I agree with you IU hangs around early and perhaps even until halftime. But I believe ND ultimately covers, winning the game by approximately 10 points.
